Volvo V90 and Volvo S60 Get the R-Design Sports Package

MANILA: The elite Swedish automaker Volvo Group, is known for its stylish and safety packed fleet of luxury cars. The latest thing to hit the news headlines from this Swedish camp is the R-Design kit, which will now enhance the looks of S90 & V90 drives from the fleet. This absolutely sporty kit was introduced last year with the Volvo XC90 and since then the automaker is working to encash the popularity of the R-Design kit by giving the same sporty touch in some of the other drives from its fleet. R-Design kit is not a new thing now as Volvo has already made it available in V40 hatch, S60 sedan and XC60 crossover for the Philippines automotive market. But with the increasing demand and popularity, Volvo is also increasing the choices for its prospective customers who are finding this sporty kit more appealing.

But what changes will this R-Design kit bring to the standard S90 sedan and V90 wagon? According to the latest reveal by Volvo automotives, the new kit adds several sporty touches to the elegant design aesthetics of the Volvo V90 and Volvo S90. This includes a slight redesign on the front fascia, with foglamp housing now integrated in the spoiler and modest changes to the front grille which replaces the silver slats from the older model, with piano black. Similar changes can also be found in the rear that also feature the same piano black trims. Apart from the cosmetic changes, the manufacturer has also decided to update both models with brand new chassis’, to provide improved stability. The new sports chassis will transform the humble luxury cars into an ‘energetic, road-hugging drive’, as per the claims by Volvo engineers.

There are changes on the inside as well, starting with brand new sports seats that cradle the front row occupants safely. The major change is a brand new steering wheel that comes as a part of the R-design Package and will be present on both the Volvo S90 & V90 to ensure an immediate feel of premiumness. A brand new illumination package is also in place to provide the interiors in a brand new light. The pedal set has also been replaced with sportier ones along with new floor mats that also come as a part of this package. Although the prices for these new models haven’t been revealed as off now, Volvo Group’s Senior President Mr. Bjorn Annwall hopes that the new addition helps both the models get the same edge as their 90 series models. This would certainly refer to improving their sales targets to keep making high quality passenger cars in the future.
