The Volvo XC40 is now established as the top-selling model in its class in the UK.This is the fourth year in a row that the XC40 has bagged the Premium Crossover title. Meanwhile, the midsize XC60 won the honors for the Premium SUV. The company said these accolades show the strong market performance of Volvo SUVs, with the XC40 now established as the top-selling model in its class in the UK.
Volvo’s expansion of low- and zero-emission powertrain options add a new dimension of interest for fleet and business motorists, guaranteeing low benefit-in-kind company car tax ratings and total costs of ownership figures, in addition to the efficiency and outstanding environmental performance.
“Strong environmental performance is now established as a key requirement for fleet and business customers in the premium market, but not at the expense of quality, safety, reliability and desirability,” Volvo Car UK Fleet and Remarketing Head Rob Morris stated. “These awards are much appreciated and signal how our growing range of Recharge plug-in hybrid and pure electric cars are consolidating their position as the ideal choice for the UK’s business motorists and fleet operators.”
During the announcement of the results, Company Car Today Editor Paul Barker said, “The two CCT100 awards for Volvo show the class-leading strengths of its SUVs. Both the XC40 and XC60 scored well for their cabin quality, design, comfortable driving experience and running costs. The variety of plug-in powertrains gives the modern company car driver some attractive choices.”
The CCT100 is a list of 100 cars that suit the needs of UK business owners.
