Volvo's climate actions recognized, new hybrid models coming to PH this year
MANILA: While Volvo's climate actions have been recognized by CDP, Volvo Philippines also announced the introduction of new hybrid vehicles this 2022.

Volvo Philippines said it will introduce the new hybrid S90, XC60, and XC90 this year.Global environmental non-profit CDP awarded Volvo an A for the carmaker's "actions aimed at cutting emissions, mitigating climate risks, and becoming a climate-neutral company," Volvo's release shared.
Volvo joins a "smaller number of companies" in the highest tier of CDP’s climate change list. More than 13,000 companies participated by disclosing data on their environmental impacts, risks, and opportunities.
Volvo aims to become a fully electric carmaker by 2030, and a climate-neutral company by 2040. The carmaker wants to achieve this through reducing the carbon footprint of its cars and supply chain, and developing fossil-free steel and sustainable battery cells.
For 2022, Volvo Philippines will introduce a range powered by Volvo’s new B6 engine.
Featuring a four-cylinder two-liter turbocharged engine linked to a 48-volt hybrid system, the new S90, XC60, and XC90 variants promise maximum performance and efficiency of 10kpl.
The Volvo hybrid cars also use an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which churns out an additional kick of power on top of the already impressive 295hp and 420Nm of torque available.
