Volvo’s latest over-the-air update includes Apple CarPlay support

MANILA: Volvo Cars begins the rollout of its latest over-the-air (OTA) software update this week to all Volvo vehicles with Google built in.

New features include Apple CarPlay, allowing iPhone users to connect their smartphones to their Volvo via USB.

Volvo Cars has been regularly rolling out OTA updates since 2021, fortifying its commitment to make its vehicles continuously better.

In a statement, Volvo Cars Connected Experience Head Sanela Ibrovic said, “Through over-the-air updates, we can make sure that our customers can enjoy new features quickly and easily. It also means that a new Volvo car is no longer at its finest as it rolls off the factory floor, but keeps improving as we launch additional updates.”

The previous OTA update, which was rolled out last April, was applied to over 197,000 Volvo vehicles. The latest update will be available in 14 new markets, and Volvo aims to increase the number of vehicles covered by the updates with every new release.
