Will 2016 Honda Accord Make Its Way to 2016 Manila International Auto Show?
MANILA: Honda Accord has always been a top-rated choice in the segment of family sedan. And with the 2016 Honda Accord, this choice has become all the more stronger. This D-segment sedan has already made a debut in Thailand which hints towards an expected launch at the 2016 Manila International Auto Show. Although, no confirmation has been made about its launch in Philippines but going by the trend of neighboring countries, we can expect it here in near future. Once the 2016 Honda Accord gets launched here, it would have to rub its shoulders with Volkswagen Passat which was launched in Philippines in October 2015. But before it's speculated launch, let's have a brief look about what Honda has got in its Pandora box to entice us.
Under the hood of 2016 Honda Accord, the Thai market has inherited two engines which we could expect here in Philippines. First one being a 2.4-litre SOHC inline 4-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power of 175 PS along with a peak torque of 225 Nm. On the other hand, the base variant would be powered by a 2.0-litre SOHC inline 4-cylinder engine which is capable of delivering a maximum power of 156 PS along with 190 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission which sends power to its front wheels.
The front fascia of this car is adorned with a wing-shaped grille and a re-contoured bumper. Moreover, it also gets new LED headlamps with daytime running lights and LED foglamps. The most striking addition to front fascia is its LED turn indicators. On the contrary, the side profile doesn't get any changes except for the new alloy wheels. At the rear end one can notice some chrome accents on the trunk along with elegant redesigned taillights. Further, the Thailand-spec exterior colour palette includes Pear White, Silver, Gray and Black.
Moving inside, the new Accord is luxuriously appointed with innovative technology and updated accents. The whole cabin gets a combination of black and beige trims along with some wood and silver accents. This blend gives it an elegant and classy look. The infotainment system has also been upgraded with a 7.7-inch display that is further assisted with Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink for smartphones.
For more information, stay tuned with us until the car gets launched in the Philippines.
