Will Passat be the Car to Bring Fortune to Volkswagen Philippines?
MANILA: Only a few hours ago, Volkswagen revealed its all-new Passat to the Philippines media person. For the general public, the company plans to launch its new sedan on 21st October. But the biggest question of the hour is, will the 2015 Passat help VW gain a better market position? Will it be able to contribute to its not-so-impressive sales figures? Will Volkswagen hit the bullseye with Passat by its site? All these questions and more will be answered in the months to come, but before that, we tried to analyse the future from our end.
Philippines is a country driven by Toyota for decades, and now new automakers are trying to fit in the loose gaps that are either left untouched or that are witnessing demand transformation. Volkswagen stands nowhere in top ten auto brands nor does any of its cars till date is able to compete with the existing players like Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai to name a few. Bringing in the 2015 awarded European Car of the Year, VW is optimistic to capture the premium-sedan segment in days to come.

This 43-year long legacy has become one of the company's go-to models and is currently entering into its eight design generation. Now, let's find out what all attributes powers this sedan that will give others a run for their money.
- New Passat is efficient enough to offer an impressive performance with its German-tuned driving dynamics and vigorous 2.0-litre TSI engine that generates 220 PS and is mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch Direct Shift Gearbox transmission.
- The car comes armed with VW Golf like Driving Profile Selector, giving the driver a freedom to drive at a mode best suited to the road requirement. Five modes are - Eco, Sport, Comfort, Normal and Individual.
- It's an ideal saloon and comes rigged with convenient features like Navigation system, Active Info Display, 12-way Adjustable front seat, Keyless-Go Entry, rear view camera and much more.
- Passat makers played with colors this time around, as the car now comes with fresh interior/exterior color combination. With colour partnerships like Crimson Red/St. Tropez, Oryx White or Iridium Grey Metallic/Titanium Black, and Deep Black Pearl or Black Oak Brown/Natural Brown it will by default attract young buyers.
- VW new sedan will come all dressed up from Germany, ensuring that from the smallest bolt to toughest mechanical fittings all are best-in-class.
- Volkswagen Passat 2015 will be available in two trim levels: Business Line and High Line. Giving the consumers, a wider range to choose from.
- With a price range of PhP 2,250,000 to PhP 2,750,000, it is a bit heavy on the pocket but with an increased price it is accompanied by a whole lot of features that justify every extra penny spent.
With a portfolio carrying such sound characteristics, we strongly feel that Volkswagen Philippines will surely improve its market standing. But it won't bumps free journey for sure and this will be fully insured by its complicators that have created a loyal customer bank for themselves. We hope that VW is successful to in-tangle its targeted buyers list, but we would like to suggest the automaker to improve its after-sales services if it wishes to see glories tomorrow.
