2019 Yamaha NMax: Features explained
Keeping customers happy and satisfied ever since its launch, the 2019 Yamaha NMax is one of the best automatic scooters that you can buy in the country right now. Yamaha PH has a good understanding of the local market, and it has curated its product lineup accordingly. While the XMax is inclined towards the premium segment, it is the NMax that is much more easily accessible by the masses and hence is quite popular. It is not just the price but also the features that make the 2019 NMax a preferable choice over others in the segment. In this story, we have tried to explain a few of the top features of the NMax to give you a clearer picture of the scooter.
155 cc engine with VVA
We begin with the heart of the 2019 NMax, its engine. Yamaha has incorporated a 155 cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It has been tuned to produce a maximum power of 14.9 bhp at 8000 revs and 14.4 Nm of torque at 6000 revs. While the SOHC setup helps to enhance the fuel efficiency and performance, Yamaha has also used its latest VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) tech in the 2019 NMax. This enables the scooter to perform better in the low and mid rev range. We also have Yamaha's Blue Core tech onboard which again helps in improving the fuel efficiency.
Sharp headlight design
The headlight of the Yamaha NMax is very well designed. Its dimensions are just right, neither it is too big nor too small. Also, since the front end of the scooter is a bit bulky in appearance, the headlight still fits in perfectly. Another great thing about this headlight is that it is a full LED unit. This not only provides better illumination in the dark but is also low on power consumption.
LED tail light
Accompanying the sharp LED headlight is the LED tail light. The horizontal layout is pretty decent and gets the job done. However, the tail light isn’t as exciting to look at as the headlight.
Large windshield
The bulky look of the 2019 NMax gives a style statement in the form of a large windshield. It also helps in keeping the wind blast away from the rider, especially at high speeds.
Dashing instrument cluster
The full LCD mono instrument cluster of the Yamaha NMax is pretty well built. It has got a minimalistic design but still manages to look great. It has a small round display in the middle surrounded by a number of tell-tale lights. The mono eye display also makes it easier for the rider to read the information even in direct sunlight.
Premium and comfortable seat
This is one of those features that might not be listed in the 2019 Yamaha NMax specs sheet but is worth mentioning. The premium quality seat is designed with a sophistication that helps in enhancing the looks of the scooter. It is also quite comfortable and riding for long distances shouldn’t be an issue.
Under seat storage
Talking about the seat, Yamaha has cleverly designed the under seat storage area. It is more than sufficient to accommodate a full-face helmet with ease. Of course, there might be some helmets that might not fit in because of their unconventional shape or design, but most of them will get in just right.
Excellent brakes
It’s good to know that Yamaha didn’t skimp on an important and necessary feature like disc brakes on the 2019 NMax. The NMax comes with disc brakes on both its wheels which provide excellent braking performance. And to further assist the rider in panic situations, there is an optional ABS variant of the scooter available at a slight premium. ABS is a must-have safety feature in any two-wheeler and we highly recommend going for the ABS model.
These were some of the top features of the latest NMax. There are many color options available, however, they vary depending on the variant you pick. The 2019 Yamaha NMax price for the standard model is Php 109,000 whereas the ABS variant is Php 10,000 more expensive and will set you back by Php 119,000.
