Honda PH celebrates 8-M unit motorcycle production milestone

MANILA: Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) has reached its latest company landmark after it celebrated its eight-millionth production milestone recently.

The brand’s landmark model is a Honda Click 125 in Matte Fiery Red Metallic that dons a digital “8” logo in the front fascia.

Measures 1,918 millimeters (mm) long; 679 mm wide; and 1,066 mm tall, the Honda Click 125 has a ground clearance of 131 mm. It also wears 14-inch wheels wrapped in tubeless tires.

Powering the aforementioned motorcycle is a four-stroke two-valve, single overhead cam, liquid-cooled 125 cubic-centimeter engine that can dish out 11 horses (and can do 50.3 kilometers per liter based on World Motorcycle Test Cycle standards).

The newest feat was accomplished in less than two years after HPI hit the seven-million achievement in August 2022. To recall, the company had its one-millionth production milestone back in February 2005.

Per HPI, the eight-millionth production record “underscores its commitment to providing high quality, reliable and environment friendly motorcycles that have become a cornerstone of Filipino transportation.”

Majority of the units produced by HPI were cub motorcycles at 49 percent (3,921,083 examples), followed by business motorcycles at 34 percent (2,694,170 units). Automatic motorcycles contribute 15 percent (1.162 million units) in the overall production numbers while the remaining three percent (222,747) were sports motorcycles.

HPI noted that amid the challenges faced in recent years especially the Covid-19 pandemic impact, the company “remained resilient and capitalized on opportunities for growth”, consistently met its annual targets and maintained its position as the number one motorcycle manufacturer in the country in terms of market share.

 

It can be recalled that late last year, HPI launched the Click 125 Anniversary Limited Edition.
