Honda PH introduces 'touring-slash-commuter' CB500F

MANILA: Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) has introduced its all-new CB500F, which HPI described as a highway-legal big bike with a 789-millimeter seat height for "on-road touring or as an alternative vehicle for commuting." 

The CB500F is motivated by a liquid-cooled, parallel twin, 471cc engine with 35kW at 8,500rpm and 43.2Nm at 6,500rpm on tap. 

The CB500F's Showa 41mm front fork promises "excellent control and sports riding feeling when turning and braking from high speed," HPI said. 

For better handling, the CB500F is fitted with lightweight wheels and swing arms. The bike's Slipper/Assist clutch "lightens up the clutch lever effort by 45%, but automatically locks up tight when released." 

To keep things in check, the sports bike features a 296mm dual disc front brake and four piston Nissin Radial Mount Caliper. 

These brakes are linked to a two-channel anti-lock brake system (ABS), which aids the rider in braking under less than ideal conditions. With emergency stop signal (ESS), the CB500F's hazard lights flash during sudden braking from high speeds.

All of these features are housed in the CB500F's steel diamond tube frame. 

The CB500F's "naked-bike image" is adorned by all LED lighting, negative display LCD meter, and is complemented by color options Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Grand Prix Red. 

HPI said the CB500F is now available at Honda Flagship Stores nationwide with a suggested retail price of P354,000.
