MANILA: Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) celebrates its 50th year of providing high-quality, cutting-edge, and dependable motorcycles to Filipinos.

In 1973, the company began manufacturing motorcycles in the Philippines under the name Mariwasa-Honda, with an annual output of 4,700 units.
Mariwasa-Honda produced the TM110 tricycle model in 1976, as well as the Honda C70 underbone motorcycle and the on- and off-road XL125 motorcycles in 1977.
In 1979, the company unveiled the TM125, followed by the TM110S model and the first TMX155 for heavy-duty tricycle use in 1981, introducing the four-stroke air-cooled engine in the Philippines.
In 1983, Honda Motor Co. Ltd. acquired the majority of the business, establishing Honda Philippines, Inc.
The Honda XL125SR model was later introduced by the manufacturer to the Philippine market.
From there, HPI carried on its tradition of providing new motorcycles to the local market to improve the mobility of Filipinos.
In 1984, HPI launched the Honda C70DD Econopower and in 1989, the company rolled out the Honda PF50.
In 2005, HPI broke ground for its plant in Batangas, which would later grow to be the largest motorcycle production facility in the Philippines.
After a year, HPI made the big move from Parañaque to the state-of-the-art production facility in Batangas.
In 2008, HPI achieved a production milestone with the rollout of its two millionth motorcycle.
In 2009, HPI introduced the Honda BeAT and Honda Wave Dash 110, and in 2010, the company launched the Honda CB110.
In 2013, HPI reached the four million production mark, coinciding with its 40th anniversary. In 2016, HPI celebrated its five million production milestone.
In 2022, HPI marked another milestone after it produced its seven millionth vehicle in the country.
The automatic Honda Click160, Honda Airblade160, and Honda ADV160, as well as the new Honda CB150X were also unveiled last year.
