Motovlogger shares what makes Honda PCX160 reliable and convenient for daily ride

MANILA: Honda PCX160 has been one of the scooters in the market that has been reliable on city traffic and long rides. MotoREV Pinas video editor and vlogger Dexter Requilman shared how this Honda scooter fulfills its promise to take riders to “The Next Level.”

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers Honda PCX160?

    Honda PCX160 is powered by a 157cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, four-valve SOHC, eSP+ engine that produces 11.8kW of power at 8,500rpm.
  • How much is Honda PCX160?

The ABS variant is priced at P145,900, while the CBS variant retails for P127,900.
  • “Coming from a lower-cc engine scooter, I desired more power for my daily needs. From the moment the PCX160 was unveiled last February 2021, I told myself that I want that to be my next motorcycle,” Requilman said.

The PCX160 is powered by a 157cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, four-valve single overhead cam (SOHC), eSP+ engine that produces 11.8kW of power at 8,500rpm. It has an efficient fuel consumption of 45.1km/L.

“You will not be disappointed with the power and at the same time, its fuel efficiency,” Requilman stated.

Requilman brought his PCX160 on a trip to Marilaque in Rizal, which is known as the “riders’ paradise” for its scenic route. “I live in a big city surrounded by traffic so when I brought my  PCX160 with me, the fuel efficiency of my bike was tested and the results were amazing. With its eight-liter gas capacity, you can ride for almost 350km in one full tank,” he shared.

“PCX160 brings out the best of both worlds,” Requilman added. “[It is> a motorcycle that is efficient to ride and convenient to use. What more can I ask for?”

The PCX160 also exudes a commanding presence with an LED headlight, position light, and taillights. It also features a redesigned digital meter panel.

“One of the common problems for motorcycle riders is they occasionally forget to turn off their turn signals, as most motorcycles have small turn signals. It confuses the motorist behind you if you’re turning right or left but with PCX160, the turn signals are so big, you will notice it immediately when it’s on,” Requilman said.

Another feature that was appreciated by Requilman is the naked handlebar. Aside from its sporty look, Requilman also commended how multi-functional it is. He uses it to install a phone holder, bottle holder, and a hook for his grocery bags.

The PCX160 has also been known for delivering responsive maneuverability with its new wheel design, tubeless tires, and twin shock rear suspension.

“The bike looks big and heavy but once you take it for a spin, you will realize how light it is. The way it handles traffic is superb and with a seat height that is just right for average Filipinos, even in long rides or short rides, you will not be disappointed,” Requilman said.

To those who are in the search for the perfect motorcycle, Requilman said that they should consider their daily needs.

“If you are a kind of rider like me who likes to bring a lot of things, takes on a long ride without visiting the gas station too much, and can provide enough speed and power all in one package, then don’t look any further, PCX160 is for you,” he said.

The PCX160 comes in two brake variations: the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) type and the Combi-Brake System (CBS) type. Both variants come with front and rear disc brakes.

The ABS variant is also equipped with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). ABS and HSTC help guarantee safety on the road as ABS provides safety rebound to prevent braking lock-up, while HSTC controls safety on wheel traction.

The PCX160 ABS variant is available in two colors: Pearl Fadeless White and Asteroid Black Metallic. It is priced at P145,900.

The PCX160 CBS variant also comes in two colors: Pearl Fadeless White and Matte Dim Gray Metallic. It retails for P127,900.
