Yamaha MT-09 Tracer sport tourer launched in the Philippines
MANILA: Also known as Tracer 900, the much-acclaimed sport tourer from the Japanese manufacturer made its local debut. Yes, the Yamaha MT-09 Tracer sport tourer launched in the Philippines on Wednesday night. The MT-09 is evolved for the ones who love covering longer distances on their two-wheelers.
Powering MT-09 Tracer is a liquid-cooled, lightweight, DOHC 847 cc with offset cylinder and forged pistons. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission which is further accompanied with ‘Assist & Slipper’ clutch. The power output of the bike measures 115 PS at 10,000 rpm while the peak torque rest at 87.5 Nm at 8,500 rpm.
Considering the significant changes in the Tracer variant, it has a seat height measuring 845 mm and fuel tank of size 18-litre, which is 820 mm and 14-litre for the standard version respectively. The ground clearance for both the versions measures 135mm and the braking duties are taken care by 298mm dual discs at the front and a 245mm single disc at the rear.
The safety pack of MT-09 Tracer includes ABS and three modes of traction control and an optional Quick Shifter System can be also installed easily. The bike is launched at a price of Php 589,000 and let's see how the bike which was first marketed as a crossover in Europe performs in the Philippines.
