Yamaha XSR900 launched in the Philippines
MANILA: The much awaited naked bike from the house of Yamaha is finally here in the Philippines. Yes, Yamaha Motor Philippines has launched XSR900 Motora Azul 1955 Cafe Lounge. Marketed as “Born to Rule”, the bike is aggressive yet classy in its own way. For the Philippines, the Yamaha XSR900 will be offered in two color choices: a black tank and fender with brushed aluminum stripes and brushed aluminum tank and fender with a brown seat.
The big round headlight, not so high seating position gives XSR900 a cruiser like appeal but it is positioned in the naked bike segment. Powering it is an 847cc 3-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valves engine which is capable of churning out 113.4 hp maximum power and 87.5 Nm peak torque. The engine is further coupled to a constant mesh, 6-speed gearbox. The XSR900 also gets wet, multiple clutch and FI fuel system. The braking duty is taken care by hydraulic disc brakes, 298 mm at the front and 245 mm at the rear. Suspension duties of XSR900 include Telescopic forks at the front and Swingarm (Link Type) at the rear.
The overall dimensions of the bike measure 2075 mm X 815 mm X 1140 mm (L X W X H) and the wheelbase stand at 1440 mm with 135 mm ground clearance. One of the notable features of Yamaha XSR900 is its selectable D-Mode, which allows the rider to adjust engine character from three available options: STD mode, A mode for sportier throttle experience, and B mode for softer throttle experience. Safety measures include ABS, adjustable traction control with three modes, depending on the kind of intervention desired.
All the settings done by the rider can be seen on the round instrument cluster, which also features the tachometer, speedometer, gear position, eco mode indicator, TCS and D-Mode indicators, a fuel gauge, clock, instant and average fuel consumption, and fuel reserve trip meter along with usual trip meters. The overall weight of the bike is 195 kg and is priced at Php 579,000.
