Mahindra Xylo

Some interesting upgrades can also be seen in the interior styling of the all new Mahindra Xylo such as premium dual tone color scheme in black and beige instead of older grey and beige color scheme making the interior look sophisticated. Faux-grey wood and chrome accents have replaced the simple faux-wood on the trims. The new MPV also gets a new beige dashboard with a brand new instrument cluster. Older plastic panels have also been revised and now comes in black instead of the brown shade which was offered in the previous model. The clutter on the inside has been cleared and looks more luxurious and elegant.

Interior Comfort

The comfort of the driver and passengers have given the top most priority in the Mahindra Xylo. The interior of the MPV is fitted with an array of latest and advanced features to enhance the comfort and convenience of the passengers. These features include a large center console with mobile charging points, class-leading AC vents, power tilt steering, black center bezel, remote fuel lid opener, central locking, sun visor for both driver and passenger etc. Higher variants of the new Xylo are equipped with comfort features like audio system and cruise control mounted on the steering, power windows, rear defogger and voice command technology.

Interior Measurements

Mahindra Xylo has always been blessed with ample of space and can accommodate its occupants with much ease and comfort. With the adjustable driver's seat and a set of flip down hand rests, the driving experience is increased to a new level of comfort. Driver-seat along with the front seat can be reclined in a flatbed-style and table tops on the front and second-row seats can be folded at the back of the seats providing a space for laptops. The third row is the most comfortable row and is in a configuration of 60:40 split seat which can be stowed down to increase the standard cargo space of 400-litre.

Stereo and Accessories

Xulo is a family drive and to make the traveling fun and entertaining, this MPV is packed with a decent infotainment facility. The entertainment area of Mahindra Xylo features 2-Din audio system which comprises of CD, MP3, SD card and USB port adorned with six speakers around the cabin.

In the facelift version of Mahindra Xylo, some interesting changes can be seen in its exterior looks featuring an all-new grille with the signature Mahindra badge and a brand new garnish strip adorning on the bonnet. The facelifted Xylo sports side body graphics and rear decal giving an appeal based on Asian taste. Chrome treatment is not restricted to the strips but extended to the smoked headlamps that are adorned in chrome garnish. Another chrome strip is also added above the number plate at the rear end making the entire look better than the conventional MPV. The new Xylo has got all-new front and rear bumpers while sticking to the previous generation model's side cladding and roof rails which give the MPV a bolder look. This Indian MPV also features fog lamp insert and wheel arch cladding on the outside which add sportiness to its appearance. While there are some major upgrades in the new model, there are few features that are absent in the lower variants like side decals, chrome garnished headlights, footstep with integrated front mud flaps and wheel covers.

Exterior Measurements

Mahindra Xylo falls in a Multi-Purpose Vehicle category with the overall dimensions of 4520 mm x 1850 mm x 1920 mm (L X W X H) along with the wheelbase of 2760 mm. The dimensions look pretty decent for an MPV ensuring comfort and utility.

Wheels

New Mahindra Xylo rides high on the 15-inch alloy wheels along with 215/75 R15 tubeless tires. this perfect combination of wheels and tires ensure that there is perfect stability and road-hugging grip while running on varied terrains.

The 2.2-litre mHawk engine claimed to return the fuel economy of 14.09 kmpl in city and 10.8 kmpl on the highway which is better than its rival Innova in the same segment.

Under the hood, Xylo is packed with 2.2-litre four-cylinder CRDi intercooler mHawk diesel engine putting up the maximum power of 120 hp at 4000 rpm along with the peak torque of 280 Nm between 1800 and 2800 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission has made its way to the Xylo with rack and pinion power assisted steering. The diesel mill provides noticeably better performance making Xylo a much better vehicle in its segment to drive.

Power

Mahindra Xylo is packed with the 2.2-litre inline four-cylinder Common Rail Direct injection (CRDi) mHawk diesel engine which is capable of producing a maximum power of 120 hp at 4000 rpm along with the peak torque of 280 Nm between 1800 and 2800 rpm.

Acceleration & Pickup

With its sole 2.2-litre mHawk engine, the new Mahindra Xylo can race from standstill to 100 kmph in 16 seconds with a top speed attaining to 155 kmph. Since this is an MPV, the acceleration and pick up looks pretty decent considering its kerb weight.

The MPV is equipped with the ventilated discs in front and drum brakes at the rear to provide adequate stopping power. It is adorned with new shock absorbers to provide efficient handling dynamics. Rear axle stabilizer is also present in the facelifted model which was absent in the previous models.

Safety and Security

Mahindra has ensured the peace of mind for the occupants while driving in this big family drive by plotting various active and passive safety aspects. Xylo has dual airbags at the front which opens up on sensing any impact. The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) prevents the wheels from locking while applying brakes on high speed, along with these features are Electronic Brakeforce Distribution which supports ABS and distributes the brake force to the wheels depending on the speed, loading and road conditions. Another safety feature packed in this MPV is Intellipark Reverse Assist which assists the driver in parking this big vehicle safely even in cramped parking space. For the safety of the car against any theft, an engine immobiliser is given with this drive.
