Very stiff ride quality
If you frequently navigate highways and poorly maintained roads, the stiff ride quality of the Mazda3 Sedan may pose a drawback. On smooth surfaces, its handling capabilities shine but the torsion beam rear and MacPherson strut front suspension translate to a jolting experience and harsh ride on rough terrains. I recently took this car for a six-hour-long drive on the highway and found it very difficult to deal with the constant jolts due to the overly firm suspension that showcased the disconnect between real-world driving conditions and the performance-oriented design of Mazda.
