Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS

As a Maybach product, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 offers several personalization options and customized elements of the highest quality, along with immaculate attention to detail. The choices of materials and leather upholsteries in different shades of Nappa leather make the cabin of the GLS 600 feel ultra-premium. 

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 has a humongous TFT cockpit screen with two 12.3-inch screens for the instrument console and the touch-sensitive infotainment system. This cockpit comes equipped with the latest ‘Mercedes Me’ connected car technology and the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice command system incorporated in its infotainment system. The cabin of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 feels even more exclusive, with features like champagne bottles, silver champagne flutes, and a touch-sensitive tablet screen for altering various functions and features of the cabin and other functions.

Other premium features in the GLS 600's cabin include an air balance package with customizable fragrances for the interior, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, customizable ambient lighting, four-zone automatic climate control, powered and ventilated seats with massaging functions, a panoramic sunroof with opaque roller blinds, and more. 

While the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is based on the GLS-Class, it has significant tweaks on the outside but with a similar silhouette. The heavy tweaks and larger-than-life design elements on the Maybach version include a different, bolder-looking grille, which, in a typical Maybach fashion, is finished in chrome with chrome surrounds and vertical slats. The dual-tone bonnet here has a coveted Maybach above the grille. While the all-LED Multibeam headlamps with daytime running LEDs are from the GLS-Class, the front bumper has a unique design for fog lamps and their surrounds, while also having a premium-looking satin silver scuff plate in the middle. 

The dual-tone treatment of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is retained for the roof, pillars, and rearview mirrors, with this elite Maybach version getting bespoke 23-inch Maybach alloy wheels, that give this mammoth SUV an extra shot of elegance. The B-pillar and side window surrounds have chrome touches, with the SUV having a Maybach badge on the D-pillar. At the back, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 has the same combination LED tail lamps with curved edges and a chrome bar between them as in the GLS-Class. However, the rear bumper here looks more premium with a satin silver diffuser and exhaust ports and their surrounds. 

Primarily projected as a chauffeur-driven vehicle, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is armed with Adaptive Damping System Plus for its air-controlled suspension and E-Active body control for each wheel with Maybach-specific drive program tuning. These systems give the GLS 600 a supremely comfortable ride quality. And while the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is blessed with 4MATIC all-wheel drive, it is no serious off-roader by any means. 

Powering the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, which is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and produces 550 PS of maximum power output and 730 Nm of maximum torque output. The 48V mild hybrid system with EQ boost function offered with this powertrain as standard gives an additional boost of 21 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. Capable of going from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds, the GLS 600 has an electronically-restricted top speed of 250 kmph. 

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 has several safety features in its arsenal, such as a Mercedes-Benz emergency call system, front and rear parking sensors, preinstallation for live traffic information, 360-degree parking camera, ten airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD and brake assist and an expansive suite of driving assistance package (full suite of ADAS features) including features like adaptive high beam assist plus, active distance assist, active parking assist and more.

While the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 has an astronomical price tag, its sheer elegance and highest-order luxury justify every penny of its asking price.
