Kymco KRV 180i DDS Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
KYMCO unveiled the scooter that some regard as a possible "Nmax killer." This new scooter is fueled by a 180cc engine and has electrical riding aids like traction control and ABS, which are generally standard on bigger motorbikes and maxi-scooters. This scooter is the KRV 180i, which will be accessible in KYMCO stores starting this month for PHP 189,900. The KRV 180i will not be available in PH dealerships until the first quarter of 2022 owing to the global scarcity of microchips, a vital element in the fabrication of computer mechanisms that affect a vehicle's or motorcycle's ABS and stability control. The KRV 180i DDS also has the same aluminum alloy flexible swingarm, power distribution matrix, KYMCO Suspension System, and stiff frame as previous sub-200cc scooters, promising excellent stability and performance.

Kymco KRV 180i DDS Design
The KRV's stylistic elements are aggressive, as are those of most current scooters. Instead of traditional bulbs, its lights are powered by LED technology. These contribute to the vehicle's distinguishing appearance on the road. In contrast to the Aerox and NMax, which feature a mound in the middle, KYMCO chose a typical flat floor design to provide the rider extra legroom. While manufacturers do not encourage using this space for storage, flat footwells can be used to store goods such as a bag of groceries, and sometimes even a sack of rice. LED headlights and taillights with sequential directional lights are also included, as are central shock absorbers and an LCD dashboard.
KRV 180i DDS Ride & Handling
It handles very smoothly as its compact size allows it to go smooth around the corners and that is the best part about the design. In terms of control and stability as well this scooter is a win-win for all kinds of riders. Being an entry-level scooter one can expect it to be this stylish in both appeal and riding dynamics. This is the first-ever scooter to be built with an independent swing arm that has all been derived from the entire architecture of this motorcycle. Thanks to all these riding qualities that have made it comfortable for both rider and the pillion. Expect a sportier riding experience with its release in the Philippine market.
Kymco KRV 180i DDS Engine & Fuel Consumption
It derives its power from the SOHC, 4- Stroke engine with a 4V liquid-cooled 175.1cc engine and that ensures smooth and efficient performance on road. Another good point that saves a lot of fuel is the fuel injection system that doesn’t pinch the pocket of the riders. The above engine churns a power output of 12.5 kW and a maximum torque of 15.68 Nm. Electric start system ensures a quick and convenient riding experience with sufficient engine power. The power plant works in tandem with a constantly variable transmission (CVT). The front tires are 110/70-13, while the rear tires are 130/70-13. It has disc brakes on both the front and back, with 270mm on the front and 234mm on the rear.
KRV 180i DDS Braking & Safety
In terms of braking & safety, it also lightens the stress on the rear suspension while reducing unsprung weight. As a result, we anticipate the KRV 180i to have a livelier ride than most of its competitors. Not only that, but Kymco also included an anti-lock braking system (ABS), LED lighting, a keyless system, and a completely digital instrument panel with the KRV 180i. It also gets a traction control system (TCS), which is usually seen exclusively on higher-end motorcycles.
Kymco KRV 180i DDS Verdict
The name of the new scooter is derived from the words "Kymco Renew your Vision," but does the KRV 180i live up to it? It appears to be the case. Kymco's newest offering is jam-packed with intriguing features. The KRV 180i, according to Kymco, is the world's first small scooter with an independent swingarm inspired by motorcycle construction. It's also not just any bike—the design is based on Kymco's flagship model, the AK 550. This scooter is expected to be a tough competitor in the scooter segment for various reasons such as the design and exciting features that make it a unique release in its segment.
