Moto Morini Seiemmezzo Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
The Seiemmezzo is the most affordable middleweight motorcycle from Moto Morini worldwide, including in the Philippines two-wheeler market. This motorcycle is being offered in two versions – while the SCR is a scrambler, the STR is a roadster, with both offering the same mechanical package but minor visual differences, including the type of wheels. While the Seiemmezzo SCR is available in green, blue, and black colours, the STR can be had in red, silver, and white colour options.

Moto Morini Seiemmezzo Design
Both the versions of the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo – the SCR scrambler and STR roadster – feature a neo-retro essence in their design, which along with a few new-age elements, make the overall design look cool. However, there are a few visually differentiating elements in both versions, which make them look befitting for the purpose they have been designed.
Both versions of Seiemmezzo have a rounded headlamp unit with an LED projector and a rounded daytime running LED around it within the unit. Having tiny turn LED indicators to its sides, the rounded headlamp has a silver-finished housing, with the SCR version having a small tiny tinted visor sitting above the headlamp.
The differences in both versions of the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo become more visible in their side profiles. Both versions have the same curved and muscular fuel tank with sharp knee recesses, the design of which has been inspired by the fuel tank of the Moto Morini Milano. The versions have the same black-themed engine, single-sided wide exhaust pipe, and underbody protection, with the engine belly pan of the SCR being the larger among the two in size.
While moving towards the rear, the differences are more highlighted – while the SCR has a brown-coloured seat with a ribbed pattern and a conventional silver-coloured tailpiece, the STR has a black-coloured conventional seat with a chopped-off design for the rear fender. Both versions have a tail-section-mounted tiny LED tail lamp positioned behind the seat of the motorcycle, with the LED turn indicators and license plate placed on the rear tyre hugger.
The Moto Morini Seiemmezzo features a 5-inch full-TFT instrument console in both the SCR and STR versions. Shared with other Moto Morini motorcycles, this 5-inch display unit reads out an array of information including a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, gear indicator, and a properly informative MID. The handlebar in both versions of the Seiemmezzo is positioned a bit higher, giving a commanding riding posture to the rider. The fit and finish levels of the components are acceptable for the price at which the Seiemmezzo is being offered.
Seiemmezzo Ride & Handling
Riding on 120/70-18 front and 160/60-17 rear Pirelli tubeless tyres, with spoke wheels in SCR and alloy wheels in STR versions, the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo comes with upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear for the suspension setup. Sourced from KYB, both front and rear suspension setups are fully adjustable for compression and rebound. For stopping duties, the braking combination opted for includes a 298mm disc at the front and a 255mm disc at the rear.
Moto Morini Seiemmezzo Engine & Fuel Consumption
The hint of the kind of engine Moto Morini Seiemmezzo comes with is hidden in its name, as ‘Seiemmezzo’ literally translates to ‘six and a half' in Italian. The four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 649cc V-twin engine of Moto Morini Seiemmezzo churns out 61 bhp of maximum power output and 56 Nm of maximum torque output. Paired with a 6-speed transmission, this engine enables the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo to reach a top speed of 180 kmph.
Seiemmezzo Braking & Safety
The Moto Morini Seiemmezzo is quite a basic motorcycle when it comes to safety, as it only gets a dual-channel ABS on offer, with no other riding aids.
Moto Morini Seiemmezzo Verdict
Both the versions of the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo stick to the purposes for which they are designed – while the SCR offers an authentic scrambler essence with mild off-roading ability, the STR behaves like a proper entry-level roadster in the middleweight category with sufficient power on tap.
