Zeekr has entered the Philippines with two new electric vehicles (EVs). One of the brand’s all-new models is the 001 shooting brake, which the carmaker touts as a luxurious and high-tech ride brimming not just with performance but also with practicality. 

As of its local introduction, the Zeekr 001 has two local trims: the 001 Long Range and the 001 Privilege. 

So, how do these two variants differ from each other? Let’s find out through this short Zeekr 001 variant guide. 

Zeekr 001 Privilege

The top-spec trim for the 001 variant lineup is the Privilege trim. It is the more powerful of the two, as it is equipped with an electric motor capable of generating up to 544 horsepower (hp) and 686 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels for the top-spec 001 variant. 

Due to its peppy motor, Zeekr says the 001 Privilege can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 3.8 seconds. 

For better ride quality, the top-of-the-line 001 comes with an active air suspension system. It also features an advanced driving mode selector featuring sand, road, and off-road modes. 

Where range is concerned, the higher-spec 001 provides up to 580 kilometers (km) as indicated by the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). 

At most, the 001 Priviledge’s battery can hold up to 100 kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy. It likewise features a 10 to 80 percent charging rate of 30 minutes thanks to its 200 kilowatt (kW) direct current (DC) charging capability. 

For its exterior, the Zeekr EV model has a slick-looking front end equipped with LED daytime running lamps and adaptive LED headlamps. Its side portion, meanwhile, was kitted out with frameless soft-closing doors, auto-dimming power-folding side mirrors, and a set of 22-inch alloy wheels. Towards the rear, this 001 trim features an LED taillight bar. 

Size-wise, the 001 Priviledge is 4,995-millimeters (mm) long, 1,999-mm wide, and 1,548-mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,999-mm, and a ground clearance of 162-mm. 

Inside, Zeekr has provided the 001 Privilege with a high-tech, cockpit-like front cabin. It gets a heads-up display, an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, and a 15.4-inch central touchscreen. 

The screens go beyond being a mere infotainment system as they are backed up by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, 16 gigabytes (gb) of random access memory (RAM), and a 128-gb hard drive. 

Sound from the 001 Priviledge’s infotainment system is fed into its cabin via a 12-piece Yamaha sound system. The 001 is kitted out for charging with numerous USB ports and a wireless smartphone charging pad. Thanks to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, linking one’s smartphone to the vehicle’s onboard screens is likewise done easily. 

Cooling for all occupants, meanwhile, is done through a triple-zone automatic climate control system packaged with an N96 air filter. The aforementioned climate control system has rear vents, which a 5.7-inch rear cabin touchscreen console can control. 

The 001 Privilege's interior is mostly leather. Specifically, its center console, dashboard, and interior door cards are covered in smooth leather. The power-adjustable seats, on the other hand, have perforated leather upholstery. 

The top-spec 001 variant can fit up to 2,144 liters with the rear seats folded down. By default, it gets 539 liters of trunk space. 

Safety aboard the 001 Privilege is handled primarily by an array of advanced driver assist systems (ADAS). Its suite of ADAS features includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, lane centering control, and highway assist, among others. 

Seven airbags support the top-spec 001’s ADAS bits. The model also has a 360-degree view camera and a digital video recorder. 

Zeekr 001 Long Range

The lower-spec trim for the Philippine-spec 001 is the Long Range. Its propulsion unit is slightly less powerful than the Privilege, at 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque. Thanks to its lower engine output, the lower variant of the 001 has a slower zero to 100 kph acceleration time of 7.2 seconds.

Conversely, the Long Range lives up to its name since it provides a WLTP-indicated range of 620 km, which is 40 km more than the top-of-the-line trim. Thanks to its 200-kW DC charging capability, it also features the same 10 to 80 percent charging time of 30 minutes. 

The lower-spec 001 variant, however, lacks the air suspension system and advanced driving modes made available to the top-spec model. 

Appearance-wise, the 001 Long Range is identical to the Privilege save for its slightly smaller 21-inch alloy wheels and its lack of an auto-dimming feature for its power-folding side mirrors. 

The lower-spec 001 trim is also the same size as its top-spec sibling. Otherwise, it offers less ground clearance at 162-mm. 

Step inside the 001 Long Range, and you will see the exact same cabin equipped with an identical set of digital displays, which get the same connectivity and device charging features. However, the Long Range's rear cabin does not get a 5.7-inch rear console screen. 

The entry-level 001 also has a generic eight-piece speaker set instead of the premium Yamaha sound system made available to the top trim. It also has a more modest dual-zone climate control system, which nevertheless also comes with N95 filtration.

Lastly, the Zeekr 001 Long Range has an identical ADAS suite as its top-spec counterpart. It is also furnished with a 360-degree view camera and seven airbags.
