Here are the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i's 3 colors

BYD Cars Philippines just dropped its latest offering in the form of the Sealion 6 DM-i.

The model is touted as a car for “image-driven and premium-seeking individuals” as well as for car buyers in the market for a “tech-savvy C-SUV (sport utility vehicle).”

While it may be a tech-packed hybrid, one of its allure lies in the simple, yet stylish palette of colors it offers would-be owners. On that note, we take a quick look at the three available hues for the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i.

Harbour Grey

Harbour Grey is the poster color of the nameplate here in the Philippines. The shade perfectly encapsulates the modern features of the compact SUV and makes for a good choice for those who want a hybrid vehicle that does not look too loud.

Speaking of which, the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i is equipped with simple yet opulent appointments like LED lighting, acoustic front window panels, privacy-type rear windows, and a set of 19-inch wheels.

The said color is also the only option that will give car buyers a unique interior finish with Tan and Black tones. The said colorway makes the vehicle’s cabin feel more posh and premium.

Inside the said cabin is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster alongside a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It also gets dual wireless chargers, a dual-zone automatic air conditioning system, an Infinity-branded 10-speaker sound system, and a panoramic sunroof.

Of course, there’s a wealth of leather trims in the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, which can be found on its seats, steering wheel, door cards, and portions of the dashboard.

Azure Blue

In Azure Blue, the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i looks to embrace its new-energy powertrain as it gives off eco-friendly vibes, which might appeal to those who value sustainability above all.

That said, the compact SUV runs on a hybrid setup that consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the marque’s 13.8-kilowatt-hour Blade battery, and a 1.5-liter gasoline mill that serves as the generator for the electric motor.

Also called the “range extender,” the internal combustion engine (ICE) helps the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i achieve a maximum range of 1,100 kilometers.

Combined, the PMSM and the ICE puts out some 214 horsepower with 325 Newton-meters of torque.

It propels the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i from zero-100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 8.3 seconds with a top speed of 170 kph.

Complementing the hybrid powertrain are three drive modes, namely Economy, Normal, and Sports. Also available is a terrain mode adjuster, which allows the driver to select between Snowfield, Grit, and Grass.

Arch White

White is a color usually associated with safety, which is a feature the BYD Sealion 6 has no shortage of.

Standard safety technologies include airbags and seatbelts, traction control, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, and hill descent control.

The BYD DiPilot advanced driver assist system further adds features like cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane departure assist, automatic emergency braking, front collision warning, traffic congestion assistance, traffic sign recognition, a six-sensor radar system, and a 360-degree view camera with “See-through” mode.
