Spec-checking the stylish 2022 Hyundai Tucson

As the new local distributor of the Korean carmaker, Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) is bringing in a slew of advanced and stylish motors from the brand. 

Joining the Creta crossover and Ioniq 5 electric car — both of which were showcased at the recent 2022 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) — is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson compact SUV, a long-standing model of the brand. 

Prices for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson start at P1.570 million for the GLS gasoline-powered variant and P1.840 million for the GLS+ diesel. 

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is a design revolution for Hyundai rather than merely a continuation of the previous generation model. Overall, compared to its predecessor, it has a larger and wider body. 

The muscular stance of the Tucson ensures a contemporary appearance without sacrificing the tough SUV history of the vehicle by fusing sharp angles, dynamic proportions, and rich textures.

Instead of using traditional sketching and drawing techniques, Hyundai's designers used cutting-edge digital technology to create geometric algorithms that resulted in the futuristic design components of the all-new Tucson.

The "parametric dynamics" method uses digitally generated faces, lines, angles, and shapes to produce unorthodox, daring design aesthetics.

As a result, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson's design has striking geometric patterns known as "parametric diamonds" that give the SUV a modern feel.

Additionally, the side of the car has noticeable geometric jewel design elements. Chiseled surfaces evoke forward motion even when standing motionless by strikingly contrasting a sleek shape with a muscular wedge.

A forceful and dynamic posture is provided by the alloy wheels, which smoothly blend taut athletic designs into sharp wheel arches. The athletic sensibility of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is highlighted by a chrome accent line with an edged parabolic shape that runs from the side mirrors to the C-pillar.

The design idea is continued at the rear with broad tail lamps with parametric hidden light features. The brand-new Tucson's rear bumper incorporates stylish garnishing and parametric pattern features with a three-dimensional look.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is the first Hyundai model to include under-the-spoiler hidden rear wipers. In contrast to traditional vehicle manufacturer insignia, the high-tech design is topped by a smooth glass Hyundai logo that appears three-dimensional but does not actually emerge from the exterior surface. 

 Depending on the variant, the Tucson comes with different wheels. For the Hyundai Tucson 2.0 CRDi GLS+, it wears 19-inch alloy wheels. The Hyundai Tucson 2.0 GLS makes do with 18-inch rollers. 

Customers who purchase an all-new Tucson can select from the following exterior colors: White Cream, Shimmering Silver, Crimson Red, Deep Sea, Amazon Gray, Phantom Black. 

Entering the sophisticated and spacious interior, or Interspace, of the all-new Tucson is like entering a neatly organized room where everyday concerns fade away. Inside, space, technology, and information coexist peacefully. Twin silver garnish lines streaming from the center fascia to the rear doors harmonize neatly layered premium surface materials in complementary neutral tones, with sensuous forms inspired by waterfalls.

Hyundai Tucson customers in 2022 will have an advanced and fully customizable digital experience thanks to the seamless integration of segment-leading technology. The new 10.25-inch AVN-T screen takes up the entire center console.

Hyundai's designers eliminated physical knobs and buttons, so all AVN, heat, ventilation, and air conditioning functions are controlled by touch, making it the first Hyundai model with a full touchscreen console. High-quality soft-touch materials are used throughout the interior, elevating the look and feel, and new indirect air vents run from the doors to the center console.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson provides customers with even more peace of mind thanks to best-in-class advanced driver-assistance systems and an active safety package with a variety of innovative features.

These features are found in both CRDi GLS + and GLS trim levels of the Tucson: Anti-lock brake system (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Brake Control (DBC).
