2016 Kia Sportage Images Leaked Before its Global Debut at Frankfurt
MANILA: With the competition in the crossover market getting fierce, automakers are working hard in order to achieve greater heights and take maximum advantage of this thriving scenario. One such carmaker, Kia is all set to offer a fourth-generation model of its ongoing crossover- Kia Sportage.
Scheduled to make a global debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the car has already made its viral debut. Images of the all-new Sportage revealed the new design language mushrooming behind the walls of Kia's European design center. The disclosed pictures pointed out a bolder and masculine front fascia, one could not miss noticing brands standard 'tiger-nose' grille, restyled extended headlamps, sectioned fog lamps and a pulled up bumper with some great character lines.
On to the side, the 4th generation Sportage carries a standard crossover look, and also showcases some prominent chrome work around the window, beneath the doors and door handles. The side profile is completed with new alloy wheels that now reside in a well framed wheel arches.
The rear side, like its front, adds to the all-new Sportage hostile looks. It is now embossed with a rear spoiler that gives a home to the shark-fin antenna, sleeker taillights, and a popped out tailgate. The rear looks is completed with the chrome finished twin exhaust pipe and diffuser.
Though, the pictures didn't reveal the inside design specs, but it will surely exhibit an exquisite harmony of rich material and high-tech mechanism. The 2016 Kia Sportage is expected to hold an identical steering wheel as seen in the all-new Optima, accompanied with a full-size centered dashboard and an 8-inch information system.
Coming to its engineering specs, the all-new Sportage is said to share its platform with the redesigned Tucson. If this holds true, we can further expect a 1.6L engine under its hood, capable of generating 132 horsepower that can be raised up to 173 horsepower when coupled with a turbocharger. A six-speed manual transmission in lower variants, a six-speed automatic and a new seven-speed dual clutch automatic will mate with the above-mentioned power mill.
With few days to go is its global debut on 17th September, we hope Kia's hard work will surely pay the company well.
