2016 Mitsubishi Strada Receives Mild Update at BIMS 2016
MANILA: On a big stage at 37th Bangkok International Motor Show, the new Mitsubishi Strada (popular as Triton in Thailand) takes floor with mild updates on the current generation model. The updates are limited to just interior and powertrain while exterior styling haven’t gone through any alterations. During this holy week when the Japanese automaker is offering roadside assistance for the locals on long trips, it adds another reason to smile for the pickup lovers with an updated Strada.
Exterior styling have been kept the same and the pickup still continues to come with automatic LED headlights, electrically operated ORVMs, automatic wipers and the 17-inch alloys housed under prominent wheel arches.
The major highlights of the upgrade inside the cabin include the inclusion of four-spoke multi-function steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment same as that of the Montero Sport and an additional 12V socket across all the Mega cab trims.
Addition of another technical update from its sibling, 4H full-time all-wheel drive mode, the new Strada 2016 will be a stiff player to outclass in the present pickup segment. It underpins a new MIVEC 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which is capable of pumping out a max power of 181 PS and 430 Nm of torque.
New safety elements have been added as standard across the range including Active Stability and Traction Control while the owners of top end variants will be benefited from a total of seven airbags including side as well as curtain airbags.
