2016 Suzuki Ciaz Unveiled in Philippines, Prices start at PhP 738,000

MANILA: The all-new and most awaited sub-compact Suzuki sedan is now slowly making its official way towards the Philippines shores. Recently, the Japanese automaker has disclosed the technical specifications, prices and further details of the upcoming 2016 Suzuki Ciaz. With the introduction of this sub-compact sedan, the offered product line-up will get a new hype with 9 cars on-board. As of now, Suzuki Philippines only has one contender in the sub-compact sedan segment, the Suzuki Swift Dzire. The upcoming car will be accompanying the Swift Dzire in making some good numbers in terms of sales.

Now getting into the authentic details disclosed by the manufacturer, the all-new 2016 Suzuki Ciaz is sharing its technical specifications with the current generation Suzuki Ertiga. It is powered by the very same 1.4L, 4-cylinder gasoline engine, and comes mated with a choice between 4-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.4L engine is tuned to churn out a maximum power of 92 hp @ 6000 rpm and achieves a peak torque of 130 Nm @ 4000 rpm. For Philippines market, the firm will be bringing the Ciaz in petrol variant only.

While measuring it all-around, it is fabricated as the largest B-segment sedan offered in the Philippines market. It is 1475mm tall, 1730mm wide and 4490 mm long. In order to give it an elegant and soft touch, the Japanese boffins have used flabby materials to fabricate the interior. They have further used silver and chrome accents to furbish the door cards, dashboard and console. The B-segment sedan will be offered in two variants: GLX and GL. The GLX variant is equipped with an 8-inch Android-based touchscreen infotainment system while the GL features a Windows CE based touchscreen accompanied with navigation.

The basic differences between the GL and GLX variants are; GL features 15-inch alloy wheels and comes with an option of 4-speed AT or 5-speed MT, whereas the GLX features 16-inch alloy wheels and comes associated with 4-speed AT only. Carrying sharp looks, the front fascia is complemented by headlamps, where it accompanies fenders with a more bulky appeal. The firm has designed it to compete with other existing sub-compact sedans available in the market. Even after being loaded with all these stimulating features, it offers an impressive combined fuel consumption of 20.5 KMPL.

The 2016 Suzuki Ciaz prices revealed by the Japanese automaker are as follows:

  • GLX AT: PhP 888,000
  • GL MT: PhP 738,000
  • GL AT: PhP 773,000

The official launch of the 2016 Suzuki Ciaz has been scheduled for the month of April 2016 and the firm will effectively start selling it after this scheduled launch. Alongside, we are also expecting from Suzuki to bring the newly uncapped Suzuki Vitara Brezza for the Philippines market. Suzuki Vitara Brezza was officially launched in the Indian market, after making its official global debut at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. We will be waiting to catch some glimpses of the crossover car at the upcoming 2016 Manila Motor Show. Stay tuned for more updates on the official launch and arrival of this B-segment sedan.
