2017 Isuzu D-Max Showcased At PIMS 2016

MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation surprised  the masses in the country by introducing the updated D-MAX before the PIMS 2016. Now, it has showcased the 2017 D-Max four-door pickup truck at the ongoing 6th Philippine International Motor Show. The same truck was launched in India a few months ago and is known there as D-Max V-Cross. However, the Philippines version is quite different from that truck. It gets a chrome grille and projector headlamps that sport LED Daytime Running Lamps, aggressively-designed front bumper, grille and foglamps with chrome inserts. At the back, the truck gets LED taillamps, chrome on cargo area handle and a lip spoiler. On the sides, it gets chrome door handles and mirror housing. The rear view mirrors sport LED turn indicators as well.

D-Max in Philippines sports a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. This engine makes 163 PS of peak power at 3,200 rpm, and 380 Nm of peak torque at 1,800 - 2,200 rpm. There are two transmission options with this engine - a five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic gearbox. The D-Max is quite a humongous vehicle as it is 5,295 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,795 mm tall. Its cargo bed is 1,485 mm long, 1,530 mm wide and 465 mm tall. The pickup truck has a wheelbase spanning 3,095 mm and sports ground clearance of 235 mm, making it a perfect companion for your off-road commutation. It has a 76-litre fuel tank on-board.

The D-Max has a Double Wishbone suspension up front with coil springs and stabilizer bars. At the rear it sports a leaf spring setup. In the braking department, the pickup truck gets ventilated disc brakes up front with drum brakes at the rear. It comes with 18 wheels sporting 255/60-size tires. In Philippines, the D-Max is available in two versions - 4x4 and 4x2. Both versions of the D-Max get driver assist package in Philippines that comprises of Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control and Hill Start Assist. The D-Max can be had in Cosmic Black, Obsidian Gray, Splash White, Titanium Silver and Venetian Red colours and starts from PhP 1,140,000 for the base 4x2 manual transmission variant.
