2018 Honda HR-V launched in the Philippines, starts at Php 1.295 million
MANILA: Two months ago, Honda launched the all-new HR-V in Thailand, the Land of Smiles. And now, Honda Philippines took us by shock by the sudden launch of the updated HR-V. This sporty looking crossover has always been praised for its unique and upbeat styling. Now, with the arrival of 2018 Honda HR-V, the macho quotient only multiplies. We are warning you that this one is for the brave hearts, who can digest its sharp looks at ease.
In the Philippines market, the new HR-V would compete against the like of Ford-EcoSport, Mazda CX-3, Suzuki Vitara, Chevrolet Trax, Hyundai Kona, and Nissan Juke. It’s quite a lot; we must say and probably one of the most selling segment.
Let’s dig in deeper and see what all the updated HR-V has in stock. Starting with the exterior -
- The updated HR-V features a long hood that’s complemented by a sloping roof
- The car now displays an extra flair, thanks to the new Solid Wing Face design
- Front bumper has been revised
- The package includes new LED headlights and redesigned LED foglights
- The 2019 HR-V RS trim features large alloys with low-profile tires, gloss black trimming, and pronounced garnish
All-new 2019 HR-V color options include five splashes - Morden Steel Metallic, Tafetta White, Phoenix Orange (for top-spec RS trim), and Lunar Silver Metallic (for E variant only).
Time to open the doors and see what lies inside, here’s the list of features found in 2018 HR-V interior, which largely replicates its pre-facelift version

- Navigation system from Garmin can be found inside the RS trim
- While the 2018 HR-V E variant gets fabric seats, the RS model features leather upholstery

New Honda HR-V 2018 engine configuration mirrors the previous model, i.e. the same 1.8-litre R18Z9 SOHC inline-four i-VTEC mill. Coupled with a seven-speed manual transmission with paddle shifters, this engine produces 141 PS of power and 174 Nm of torque.
