2019 X5 launched by BMW Philippines
MANILA: Now in its fourth generation, the BMW X5 has been quite a revolution in the automobile industry across the globe. Doing away with the previous generation of the X5, the Filipinos can now finally get their hands on the all-new 2019 BMW X5. How? The X5 SUV has been officially launched by SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., who is the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines.
The updated X5 carries over the versatility, sovereignty, and luxury from the last generation model along with the characteristics of the German automaker’s Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV). Not only that, the SUV now boasts enhanced authority, poise, and robustness. BMW Philippines has made the 2019 X5 available in just one variant, xLine. Up front, a pair of dual LED headlamps flank the single-piece double-kidney grille, which is finished in satin aluminium. The roof rails, under guard, and side window surrounds also get the same finish as the front grille. The 2019 BW X5 rides on 19-inch V-spoke alloys.
Moving inside the SUV, the cabin appears polished and better in every way. While the instrument cluster has been renovated, the driver is provided with the control display and cutting-edge keyboard concept to enhance the driving experience. The upholstery has been done in Vernasca Leather, and ambient lighting, Harman Kardon sound system, comfort seats, and cooled/heated cup holders make the essential amenities. Something that has also increased is the boot space. Now at 650-litre with the rear seats deployed, it can be further increased up to 1,860-litre with the rear seats folded down.
Both the BMW Operating System 7.0 and BMW Live Cockpit Professional system along with their dedicated 12.3-inch screens have also made their way to the 2019 BMW X5. The driver can use any of the touchscreen display, voice control, BMW gesture control, steering wheel buttons, or the iDrive Controller as per their preference, thanks to the Multi-modal interaction.
The X5 xDrive30d xLine gets its power from a 3.0-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo inline-six diesel-fed motor which can produce 269 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 620 Nm. Sending the power to all four wheels is an 8-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic Sport. The X5 dismisses a 0-100 kmph run in no more than 6.5 seconds. Safety features on the BMW X5 are plenty including dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), automatic lock when driving away, cornering brake control (CBC), crash sensor, dynamic stability control (DSC), dynamic traction control (DTC), head airbag for front and rear seats, hill descent control (HDC), ISOFIX child seat mounts, run-flat tires with tire pressure indicator, side airbags for driver and passenger, and side-impact protection. The 2019 BMW X5 price of Php 5,990,000 includes a 5-year / 200,000 kilometres warranty.
