2020 Bentley Flying Spur is a luxury sedan stacked with performance
MANILA: Bentley and luxury go hand in hand. And with the changing times, the automaker has been taking the level of luxury to even greater heights. But what if you get a full-size sedan with a blend of luxury and performance?
It would be a treat too delicious to deny, right? Bentley has brought out just that, the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur. Even more luxurious than its predecessor, the Flying Spur now comes underpinned by the platform we have seen on the Porsche Panamera. As a matter of fact, the previous model used the platform of the Volkswagen Phaeton.
With the evolution of the automobile industry, Bentley cars seem to evolve at a similar pace. The design philosophy followed by 2020 Bentley Flying Spur is sporty, muscular, and curvaceous. The 2020 Flying Spur gets a new Flying B hood, a wheelbase longer by five inches than on the previous model, and a sweeping roofline. Then there are the 22-inch wheel and 16.5-inch brake rotors. As a whole, the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur is a sedan that will be liked by both luxury and performance fanatics.
Move inside the all-new Flying Spur and you are greeted with a 12.3-inch infotainment system that is complemented by another touchscreen at the back that controls the rear-seat climate settings. The leather trim pieces are claimed to feature a three-dimensional surface. Moreover,
customers can choose from an array of interior color combinations. For music lovers, the audio system can be customised with anywhere from 10 speakers/650 Watts to 19 speakers/2,200 Watts. There is also an active exhaust system, the design of which reduces the noise coming into the cabin, providing the occupants with a calm and relaxed ride.
In terms of power, the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur gets its juices from a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W-12 that makes good 626 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 900 Nm. Thanks to the ample power and a combination of an all-wheel steering, eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and an all-wheel-drive system, the new Flying Spur can do a 0-97 kmph (0-60 mph) run in no more than 3.7 seconds before topping out at 333 kmph (207 mph). The automaker will also be offering the 2020 Flying Spur with V8 and hybrid powertrains in the near future.
