2020 Suzuki Vitara - Variants explained

The new 2020 Suzuki Vitara has been recently launched in the country for a starting price of PHP 1.04 million. It is available in only two variants - GL Plus AT and GLX AT - the latter being the top-end variant retailing at PHP 1.16 million.

Suzuki tried to provide all the new features in both the variants. And indeed most the features are common but certain differences justify the price difference. We will be explaining everything in this story.

First, let’s talk about the common features between the two variants.

Common exterior features

The new 2020 Suzuki Vitara is more of a facelift. It gets a revised front grille which now features multiple vertical chrome slats and is bolder than before. The LED headlamps are large in size adding to the style of the car. Suzuki has also thrown in a pair of LED DRLs located at the front bumper.

Talking about the front bumper, it gets restyled fog lamp housing, chrome garnishing, and some blacked-out parts which tend to enhance the sporty look of the car. Suzuki also tweaked the rear combination tail lamps for a completely revamped look.

These were the exterior changes that Suzuki has done in the new 2020 Vitara and these are common in both the GL Plus AT and GLX AT variants.

Common interior features

On the inside, the new Vitara gets a new geometric-pattern seat upholstery, new clock design, multifunctional steering wheel, navigation, automatic AC, and a front centre armrest. Apart from these we also have electric power windows and central door locking.

Engine

Another feature that you will find common in the 2020 Suzuki Vitara specs of both its variants is the engine. It is a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 115 PS of max power at 6000 rpm and 156 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift and that’s the only transmission option available.

Ans. Suzuki tried to provide as many necessary safety features as possible in the new Vitara. Some of the common safety features between the two variants are as follows-
