2024 Ford Ranger Raptor equipped with Fox Live Valve tech for even better off-road performance
MANILA: Hailed as the “most powerful and high-performance, off-road capable Ranger ever,” the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor is designed with class-exclusive 2.5-inch Fox Live Valve shocks and a Watts link rear suspension in order to tackle even the most challenging dunes.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What are the drive modes available on the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor?
The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor has seven drive modes namely Normal, Tow/Haul, Sport, Slippery, Off-Road, Rock Crawl, and Baja. When will the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor go on sale?
Ford announced that the all-new Ranger Raptor will be coming to the United States in the first quarter of 2024.With coil-overs up front and piggyback reservoirs at the rear, the next-generation shocks minimize heat build-up for consistent performance throughout the day.
The drive modes of the Ranger Raptor determine how the Fox Live Valve Internal Bypass system adjusts damping performance. The modes — Normal, Tow/Haul, Sport, Slippery, Off-Road, Rock Crawl, and Baja — were created to improve on-road comfort, off-road control, and ride quality at both high and low speeds.
In order to withstand harsher off-road conditions, the Range Raptor has additional reinforcement in key areas such as the front frame rails, front shock towers, rear shock brackets, suspension and mounting points.
An excellent suspension system needs an equally impressive amount of power. The 2024 Ranger Raptor is powered by a Ford-Performance-tuned twin-turbo 3.0-liter Ecoboost V6 engine that churns out up to 405 horsepower and 583 Newton-meters of torque. The engine is mated to a 10-speed Selectshift automatic transmission.
Earlier this year, Ford announced that the all-new Ranger Raptor will be coming to the United States in the first quarter of 2024.
Ford Performance Chief Engineer Carl Widmann described it as “the high-performance off-road truck so many customers have been begging for.”
“It's right-sized for tight trails and daily life, can carry lots of gear, and is a blast to drive. Ranger Raptor is fast, comfortable, and packed with top-shelf, purposeful technology that’s designed to perform. This is the baddest Ranger we’ve ever made,” he added.
Every element of the Ranger Raptor’s design serves a purpose. The bold and sophisticated styling is accentuated by the LED projector headlights and the C-clamp signature lighting. The FORD lettering on the grille sits over an all-steel bumper with integrated, frame-mounted front and rear tow hooks. The rear is equipped with LED taillights with the similar signature C-clamp design as the headlights.
The Ranger Raptor is fitted with 17-inch wheels and 33-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain KO3 tires.
According to the American carmaker, the 2024 Ranger Raptor will be manufactured at the Michigan Assembly Plant in the United States.
