63k Geely Coolray sold globally in 2023

MANILA: A total of 63,000 Geely Coolray units have been sold around the world during the full 12 months of 2023.

In a statement, Geely Auto International rolled out the said number of examples globally last year that makes it one of the best-selling models in the lineup.

Following such sales performance, the Geely Coolray — known as Binyue in China — now has around 800,000 units sold worldwide since it made its inception in 2018. To note, the aforementioned subcompact sport utility vehicle is sold in over 40 countries — covering Americas, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific regions.

Per Geely, Coolray sales in Eastern Europe increased by more than 190 percent year-on-year. Saudi Arabia posted an 18.8-percent rise when compared to its previous performance.

Last year, Geely Auto unveiled the new Coolray in various markets such as Chile, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Paraguay, Ecuador and Mexico. The crossover is gaining popularity among customers as the demand for the model has also grown.

The Geely Coolray is built on the brand’s new B-Segment Modular Architecture (BMA). It comes with an athletic design and aggressive lines complemented with an air intake front grille, LED headlights with Energy Pulse three-way daytime running lights and tail lamps, as well as 17- or 18-inch wheels and quad exhaust outlets.

Inside, occupants are to be greeted with the integrated dual digital display, which combines the 10.2-inch colorful instrument panel, and the 12.3- inch high-definition infotainment touchscreen, along with a panoramic sunroof.

Powering the Geely Coolray is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, which can provide a maximum of 172 horsepower and a little over 290 Newton-meters of torque. The mill is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
