All-new Mitsubishi Strada Debuts in Thailand, Philippine Fans Hope To Be Treated To It Soon
MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has officially launched the all-new Mitsubishi Triton, locally known as Strada, in Thailand.

The all-new Mitsubishi Strada is expected to arrive in other ASEAN countries soon and in Japan in early 2024.Under the hood of the all-new Strada is a 2.4-liter clean diesel turbo engine with improved performance and efficiency. It comes in three output specifications: a high-output version with a new turbocharger and a new combustion system, producing a maximum output of 150kW and maximum torque of 470Nm; a standard version delivering a maximum output of 135kW and maximum torque of 430Nm; and another standard version producing a maximum output of 110kW and maximum torque of 330Nm. The standard versions come with a variable geometry turbocharger.
The all-new Strada gets either a six-speed automatic transmission with Sports mode or a six-speed manual transmission with shift-by-wire.
Using a dial selector, the driver can easily shift to 4WD mode. The all-new Strada uses the brand’s Super Select 4WD-II and Easy Select 4WD systems.
The all-new Strada features a rugged look that exudes a commanding presence on the road. Its front face is designed with the Dynamic Shield concept that not only reflects the vehicle's powerful performance, but also provides improved protection to both the people and the car.
The cabin shape and the rear spoiler were designed for improved aerodynamics, the door handles were made bigger for easier grip, and the side steps were made wider for improved water drainage.
The all-new Strada is also loaded with advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation system, blind spot warning with lane change assist, and rear cross traffic alert.
For a more comfortable and convenient driving experience, the all-new Strada also comes with Mitsubishi Connect that enables a wide range of smart features. This allows the driver to connect to a call center with just one touch of a button to request for assistance in case of an accident or breakdown. Mitsubishi Connect also includes a car finder function that lets the user know the location of a parked car through their smartphone. It also enables remote operation of the air-conditioning system and indicates the vehicle’s remaining fuel volume, oil state, and drive history.
“As a pickup truck that fits for a new era, we have developed the all-new Triton with even more Mitsubishi Motors-ness,” Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Takao Kato stated. “With production ultimately expected to reach 200,000 vehicles in over 100 countries, the all-new Triton is an extremely important model that will provide foundational support for Mitsubishi Motors, as well as the first global strategic vehicle to be rolled out at the start of our growth phase.”
