All-new Suzuki Jimny launched in Indonesia, starts at Php 1.1 million

MANILA: There is no denying to the fact that the all-new fourth-generation Suzuki Jimny has become the favourite small 4x4 in the automobile space ever since it made its way out from the Suzuki facilities. Automobile markets of the countries like the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and others have welcomed the newest iteration of the 4x4 crossover with their arms wide open. With its strategic formula of launching the all-new Jimny in different markets one after the other, Suzuki has finally launched the 4x4 crossover in Indonesia.

Suzuki has introduced the Sierra version of the Jimny in Thailand, unlike the smaller Kei-car category Jimny of Japan which gets a three-cylinder 660 engine. So, yes, it is pretty much like the Philippine version, albeit with the steering wheel on the right. In terms of its appearance, the fourth-generation Suzuki Jimny retains its retro boxy look. Also, it gets modern features like auto LED headlamps with washers. On the inside, there is a multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, auto air conditioning, and much more.

The Thai-sped Suzuki also gets its juices from a  K15B 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that makes 102 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 130 Nm. There is also the Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro part-time four-wheel-drive system. Thanks to the ladder frame with additional cross members, 210 mm ground clearance, 37-degree approach angle, 28-degree ramp break-over, 4.9-metre turning radius, 49-degree departure angle, and a suspension that comprises of a three-link rigid axle with coil springs at the front and rear, the fourth-generation Jimny is a decently capable off-roader.

The 15-inch wheels clothed with 195/80 AT tyres keep the crossover planted on the road. Moreover, there are two SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold control, and hill descent control for the safety of the passengers.

Coming on to the price, Suzuki Indonesia has given the single-tone 4x4 with manual transmission a starting price of Rp 315.5 juta, which translates to around Php 1.1 million. The price goes all the way up to Rp 330 juta (Php 1.2 million) for the dual-tone automatic variant.
