An all-new 2020 Isuzu D-Max is coming to PH soon
MANILA: Unveiled just last October in Thailand, we can hardly wait for the all-new 2020 Isuzu D-Max to reach Philippine shores. The latest version of the Isuzu pickup truck finally gets a generation upgrade after eight years in production. It will be offered in different trim models: Regular Cab, Space Cab, and Crew Cab. The flagship model—V-Cross is only available in Crew Cab 4x4 guise.
The 2020 D-Max sports a chunkier, more rugged appearance true to the “Infinite Potential” theme and premium styling elements. Upfront, the 2-slat black grille dominated the front façade with upgraded LED projectors headlights flanking it on both sides. Below are stacked fog lamps. The sides get black fender detail, step board for easy access, while the back also gets an updated design. The exterior trims like the door handle come in either chrome or black depending on the variant.
Inside the cabin of the new Isuzu pickup, is an impressive update on tech. The flagship model’s dashboard features a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It is equipped with a 9-inch center-mounted infotainment display equipped with a navigation system and compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also comes with voice recognition for hands-free operation, so you don’t get distracted while driving.
Under the hood, the new 2020 Isuzu Dmax is powered by a newly developed 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine capable of producing 188 hp of maximum power and 450 Nm of peak torque. Isuzu also revealed that the new generation pickup will also come in a 1.9-liter RZ4E turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine though there is no power sheet available yet for that mil.
The engine is partnered with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Two-wheel and all-wheel drive are available options as well. Standard passive and active safety features, as well as driver-assist technology, include airbags, blind-spot monitoring, and cross-traffic alert.
There is no word yet from Isuzu Philippines as to the exact date of the Isuzu D-Max arrival. But lest assured we’ll keep you updated as soon as we find out.
