Audi set to Reveal Q2 and Q5 model in 2016

MANILA: Audi, the German automaker has made some ground investments in the development of next-generation vehicles. The automaker has finally confirmed the launch of all new Q2 in 2016. The prototype test mule was already spied few days earlier and the car appeared like a compact crossover. It is based on VW group's MQB platform. The Q2 is likely to go on sale by the end of 2016 soon after its launch at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Audi has also confirmed the launch of the Q5 model which lies in the compact SUV segment. Both the models have been tested on various terrains multiple times.

Audi is also expected to launch the Q6 model which is based on the e-tron Quattro concept by the year 2018 and by 2020, the automaker has planned to witness 60 different models. The Q6 model is likely to offer electric power mill. Audi is said to invest around 3 billion Euros in a couple of years in order to boost the present market share in the global automotive sector. The German units, namely Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt will receive major investment.

Audi Q2 will measure close enough to the Q3 model. However, it might get shorter in length in comparison to the Q3. It is likely to be available in both petrol and diesel variants with engine displacement starting from 1.4 to 2.0-litre. Meanwhile, the Q5 model will be technically updated with features like dynamic turn signals, single frame grille, Matrix LED headlamps, latest MMI system, and Audi virtual cockpit. The 2016 Q3 will be powered by a TFSI turbocharged gasoline and diesel engine.

The new Q5 will be offered with TFSI turbocharged petrol and TDI turbocharged diesel engine. The automaker is also planning to reveal the next-generation plug-in hybrid Q5 model in the coming couple of years. With the current strategy adapted by Audi, it is clear that the automaker is building cars with no straight rivals in the field.
