Audi sold more than 81,000 EVs globally in 2021

MANILA: Here's something that's very interesting: Audi introduced more electric models versus conventional vehicles last year —  and sold 81,894 fully electric models worldwide in 2021, a 57.5% spike from the previous year. 

Intending to have more than 20 fully electric models in its portfolio by 2025, Audi will exclusively introduce to market fully electric models beginning 2026, the German carmaker said in a release. 

In line with this electromobility goal, Audi Philippines will soon bring to its showrooms the fully electric Audi e-tron SUV, the e-tron GT four-door grand tourer, and the dynamic RS e-tron GT.

All three models can travel more than 400 kilometers when fully charged.

Audi plans to shift to electric power starting in 2033, and is optimistic that its future EVs will be well-received. 

“We’re looking to the future with confidence," Audi AG Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing Hildegard Wortmann expressed. 

"With ‘Vorsprung 2030,’ we have defined a clear strategy, and our courage to make lasting changes is being rewarded — high demand for electric vehicles from Audi confirms our early decision in favor of zero-emission drive systems,”  she added.
