Audi SQ7 is the new ‘S for Sporty’ Derivative of Q7
MANILA: Just after revealing the all-new Audi e-Tron Concept at the ongoing 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the German manufacturer has disclosed another appealing machine churning out some amazing numbers. Audi has lately divulged its newly architectured and performance oriented SUV, i.e. Audi SQ7. By having a look at its performance figures along with its stunning designing language, it seems that the German auto firm has only intensified the crave further by revealing the e-Tron Concept ahead of the SQ7. The recently announced performance variant will be getting a place under the Audi Q7 line-up model. Even being a variant, it won’t be dominated by the conventional turbo-diesel engine that commonly feature in the Q7 lineup. The firm has fitted the SQ7 with a new power-plant accompanied with an electric-powered compressor.
In the month of December 2015, Audi Philippines launched the lightweight 2016 Audi Q7. However, the new Audi Q7 is already a performance player in terms of power and driving experience, but the newly added “S” moniker adds another fist to the power figures to this newly introduced variant. The soon to launch Audi best-in-class performer is powered by a revamped 4.0-liter V8 TDI engine which is linked to an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission. The overhaul 4.0-liter engine is tuned to generate a maximum power of 435 hp and the torque has been extensively raised up to 900Nm.
It is a highly powered machine that can cover 0-100 kmph mark in just 4.8 seconds, which is best-in-class till now. Above all the German manufacturer claims the SQ7 to be the most powerful SUV offered in the market. The entire courtesy of becoming a powerful SUV has been given to the world’s first electric powered compressor that lets you drive up to the electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. Even after loaded with all these advanced equipments, it is capable enough to offer a frugal drive with an average of 13.5 kmpl under mixed conditions.
While talking about its performance, it has been taken care by the manufacturer firmly. The German boffins have fitted the SQ7 with an all-new Audi Valvelift System which comprises of two cam contours on every intake and exhaust cams. The Audi Valvelift system helps the twin turbochargers with their operations.
Audi SQ7 comes as a treat for your eyes. It is offered in 12 distinct paint schemes accompanied with radiator grille and underbody guard. The underbody guard encloses all the four rectangular exhaust pipes, finished in twilight grey matt color. Over the exterior, the Audi S model showcases an S-Specific Singleframe grille, refurbished front and rear aprons, four-rectangular tailpipes, mirror caps, and Matrix LED headlights.
While stepping inside this performance SUV, you will find distinct cabin additionals that comprise of analogue gauges, sports seat, MMI navigation, power tailgates, ambient lighting and the most useful one are LED lights in boot-space. In order to entertain the driver and passengers, the firm has fitted an optional 19 or 23 speaker sound system.
The Audi SQ7 is ready to roll out by the middle of this fiscal year. As for the Philippines market we are expecting to see the same at the upcoming 2016 MIAS.
