BYD leads global EV sales race anew

MANILA: BYD is again the leader in the global electric vehicle (EV) sales, marking its second year (in 2023) as the top brand to dominate the electrified mobility segment worldwide.

According to the Chinese EV titan, it sold a total of 3,024,417 electrified models last year. The said number has translated not only to a 61.9 percent increase in the company’s sales (compared to its 2022 record) but also propelled the auto firm to put itself on the map and compete with some of the biggest names in the industry.

On top of leading the global EV sales race anew, BYD also landed in the top 10 of all automotive sales for the year while continuing to lead all other car brands and manufacturers in Chinese domestic vehicle sales.

In the Philippines, BYD EVs are exclusively distributed by Mobility Access Philippines Ventures, Inc. (MAPVI). As an Ayala Corporation subsidiary under its automotive arm, AC Motors, MAPVI will spearhead the group’s sustainability goals and help achieve its Net-Zero Strategy by introducing and selling BYD Electric Vehicles in the Philippines.

Locally, BYD’s offerings include the Han, Tang, Dolphin, and the Atto 3.
