Changan CS35 Plus hurdles 122-day local endurance challenge

MANILA: The Changan CS35 Plus demonstrated its on-road abilities, taking into account fuel efficiency and engine power, at a recently completed 122-day, 100,000-km endurance challenge done under diverse driving conditions and various terrains.

The endurance challenge began in Laguna with a dynamic and static test on a flat road with the engine continuously running 24/7, reaching an average of 40 km daily for 10 consecutive days on different premium unleaded fuel.

Following this was, a day-long fuel consumption done from Calamba City to Baguio City, where the top-selling subcompact SUV of Changan went through combined city and highway driving, as well as the required uphill climb. 

The challenge concluded with the CS35 Plus going through uneven and rugged road surfaces from Calamba City to Batangas City. It was driven at 1,000 to 20,000 km on the first leg and 20,000 to 100,000 km on the second, moving at an average of 820 km daily and undergoing standard periodic maintenance every 10,000 km.

The CS35 Plus was able to survive the endurance test unharmed and still in "supreme driving condition." The 24/7 Laguna challenge saw the unwavering reliability of the CS35 engine at a constant speed for 122 days, while the Baguio run confirmed its fuel efficiency at 14.6 kpl.

The latest findings support the positive reviews that Changan CS35 Plus has been acquiring worldwide. It earned the highest rank as it satisfied the changing market demand in the crossover category in the 2020 JD Power China Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study and the 2020 J.D. Power China Initial Quality Study (IQS).

Moreover, the fuel efficiency, dependability, stability, and power of the Changan 1.5T BlueCore high pressure direct injection engine, which is at the core of each Changan vehicle, recently conquered the Guinness World Record’s “Longest Live Video Broadcasting” challenge, running virtually, live, and non-stop for over 250 hours at a constant speed of 5,500 rpm.

Changan takes pride in two “magic weapons” for its quality assurance, namely, the Changan Automobile Test and Verification System (CA-TVS) and the Changan Automobile Product Development System (CA-PDS).

CA-PDS comprises the product life cycle and precisely assists the Changan product development group to fulfill the demands of customers. 

CA-TVS, on the other hand, guarantees efficiency and durability since each new vehicle is subjected to over 12,400 assessments in 16 areas, which include complete vehicle level, system matching, and parts verification, summing up to 4,000,000 km of punishing driving conditions.

The testing of the product is conducted at the expansive Chongqing Research and Development (R&D) headquarters, where the Changan Automobile Comprehensive Test Field, one of the most precise of its type in Asia, is found.
