Charging ahead: Fully electric Audi e-tron range arrives in PH

MANILA: With the debut of the fully electric e-tron range here, Audi Philippines is leading the charge toward premium electric-powered mobility in the country, as communicated by its “FutureNow” program. The introduction of the all-new models signals that sustainable energy transport solutions promoting sustainability as a new luxury are no longer a pipe dream, but are now happening in the country.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the three Audi e-tron models available in the Philippines?

Audi Philippines now offers the e-tron SUV, e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT.
  • What are the key features of the Audi e-tron models?

All Audi e-tron models are powered by two electric motors and come with electric quattro all-wheel drive. They also feature the Audi Virtual Cockpit, which can be accessed through the central MMI touch display.
  • The e-tron SUV, Audi’s first fully electric production model, leads the e-tron range. It offers the cabin space and comfort of Audi’s full-size SUVs, transforming electric mobility into a deluxe experience through high-quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship.

It features a Singleframe grille with a platinum gray central element, digital Matrix LED headlights with the e-tron signature daytime running lights, black inserts in the sill area that displays the central location of the vehicle’s battery, and a wide rear diffuser that emphasizes the absence of exhaust pipes. The model’s charging flap is also designed with the signal orange e-tron logo.

On the inside, the e-tron SUV’s superior in-car digitization is highlighted by a broad arc that runs across the large instrument panel. The hand rest with integrated shifter sits over the center tunnel. Two large MMI touch response displays are directed toward the driver, replacing practically every conventional switch and control. The driver can select between two high-resolution graphics in the standard Audi Virtual Cockpit.

The e-tron SUV is powered by two electric motors that churn out 408hp and 664Nm, making the vehicle capable of sprinting from a standstill to 100kph in 5.7 seconds. A new-generation electric quattro all-wheel drive gives superior traction and handling on any condition. The torque distribution between the two axles is continually regulated by the system.

On a single charge, the e-tron SUV can go up to 484 km. It can be charged using alternating current (AC) at up to 22kW, and there are a variety of home charging solutions available. A household outlet or an industrial three-phase outlet can be used with the standard mobile charging system.

Aside from the e-tron SUV, the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT are also currently offered in Audi Philippines showrooms. These models are ideal for daily driving as they combine luxury features, evocative design, and breakthrough technology with zero-emission, fully electric power plants.

Both models feature eye-catching looks and deliver powerful drive, responsive handing, and long range. These vehicles are characterized by their long wheelbase, wide track, huge wheels, and flat roofline. From the headlights to the powerful quattro blisters, wheels, and the large diffuser at the back, every facet of their aesthetics streams from efficiency. The models’ outer skin is entirely made of aluminum to reduce weight.

On the inside, the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT both offer the feel of a classic gran turismo. The interior is extensively connected, with displays and controls operated through the digital Audi virtual cockpit plus, which can be accessed through the multifunction steering wheel and the central MMI touch display.

Both the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT are powered by two electric motors. The motors in the e-tron GT generate 530hp and 630Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the RS e-tron GT boasts 646hp and 830Nm of torque, making it Audi’s most powerful production car ever.

The charging points for either AC or direct current are placed on the front fenders of the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT. An empty battery can be fully charged overnight with home charging solutions. The e-tron GT can go up to 500 km on a fully charged battery, while the RS e-tron GT can travel up to 481 km.

Audi Philippines promotes the fully electric e-tron range with breakthrough electromobility initiatives. The company is setting up dedicated electric vehicle service facilities, installing chargers in key locations, and ensuring home charging solutions that make driving an e-tron SUV, e-tron GT, or RS e-tron GT as easy and convenient as using any other digital mobile device.
