Chevrolet launches Colorado 4th of July edition in Thailand, but why?
MANILA: Over there in Thailand, Chevrolet has just launched the Colorado 4th of July Edition, however, the question is, why? Considering the fact that America is the only country that celebrates its independence day on the 4th of July and Thailand has its independence day on December 5th, it’s strange that Chevrolet has actually launched the Colorado 4th of July edition in Thailand.
The Chevrolet Colorado 4th of July Edition is based on the pickup truck’s High Country trim and comes in both 4x2 and 4x4 models. The pickup comes wearing American flag decals, stylish American bald eagle badging, and 3D “Colorado” badges at both front and back.
We have seen numerous automaker bringing out some really cool and unique special editions, however, the Colorado 4th of July Edition for the Thai market seems bonkers. We understand Chevrolet’s desperation of boosting the sales but dipping a pickup truck that is made in Thailand for the people of Thailand in American colors is just beyond our brains.
Chevrolet will be building a handful of 50 units of the Colorado 4th of July edition and has given the pickup a price tag of P 1,009,000 Baht, which roughly translates to Php 1.689 million. On one hand, Chevrolet is working in conjunction with Michelin in developing airless tyres, and on the other, the American automaker is also dripping crap like this.
