Defender 75th Edition celebrates landmark Land Rover with unique color and detailing

MANILA: The Land Rover Series I made its debut at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1948. The Defender 75th Limited Edition, released today, is how Land Rover is commemorating the anniversary of the iconic model.

The Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition, which is available in 90 or 110 body styles, has an exclusive exterior design theme with unique detailing and is painted in the famous Grasmere Green color with complementary wheels and interior finishes.

The truck’s Cross Car Beam has been finished in a brushed Grasmere Green Powder Coat, and the Cross Car Beam end caps have laser-etched details. Defender's robust and adaptable interior has got a similar treatment. The center console's hockey stick is made of the most durable fabric available for Defender, Robustec, and the seats are coated with Resist Ebony.

Since revealing the new Defender, customers around the globe have fallen in love with it and demand remains extremely strong. This new Limited Edition captures the spirit of the past 75 years, with its color and detailing, and fuses it with innovative new technology such as Hybrid Electric power, Configurable Terrain Response, software over the air updates and unrivaled all-terrain capability,” Defender Chief Engineer Stuart Frith explained.

Based on the high-spec HSE, the Defender 75th Limited Edition has a long list of standard features. The 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system, Head-Up Display, Meridian Sound System, Matrix LED front lighting, Configurable Terrain Response, Wireless Device Charger, and 3D Surround Camera are examples of cutting-edge technology.

In addition, all Defender 75th Limited Edition vehicles include a folding fabric roof or the choice of a sliding panoramic roof. For added comfort, there are heated steering wheels, folding fabric roofs, and 14-way driver and passenger seats with electric heating and memory settings. All-Season tires and an electrically deployable tow bar are available as options to increase capability.

Next to the P400 and D300 Ingenium petrol and diesel options — which both use Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology to optimize power delivery and fuel economy by harnessing energy typically lost under deceleration and braking — powertrain options include the potent and effective P400e plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV) on 110 models.

The Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition was unveiled along with a new line of Land Rover lifestyle products commemorating this historic occasion, guaranteeing its place as a highly collectible Defender.

The Lifestyle Collection contains an extensive selection of products that share the Grasmere Green color scheme, such as a minimalist unique watch with two straps, a practical backpack, and clothes with distinctive 75 Years patterns and detail.

Included in the Defender’s list of accolades is more than 50 global awards. Among these are Top Gear’s 2020 Car of the Year, MotorTrend’s 2021 SUV of the Year and Autocar’s Best SUV 2020 as well as a Five-Star Euro NCAP Safety Rating.
