Facelifted 2020 Lexus GX 460 receives aesthetic updates
MANILA: Lexus vehicles are very popular for their huge grilles, aren’t they? And with the 2020 Lexus GX 460, the luxury vehicle arm of Toyota has pushed things even further. The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado based SUV gets an updated larger than before grille with ES 350 and LS 500 inspired chevron pattern.
Thicker than before chrome surrounds and revised headlamps with LED lighting are the other notable updates on the outside of the luxurious SUV. Other exterior elements like the tail lights, rear bumper, alloy wheels, and side panels retain the same old and unchanged appearance.
On the inside, the 2020 Lexus GX 460 receives a new three-spoke steering wheel in place of the previous four-spoke unit. The instrument cluster has also gone under the hammer and now features a larger multi-information display with updated graphics. Lexus has also taken care of the passengers at the rear with providing them with two extra USB ports. With changes on both outside and inside,
the stuff under the hood remains the same as before. The 2020 Lexus GX 460 continues to get its power from a 4.6-litre V8 motor that produces 301 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 446 Nm. The transmission is also the same six-speed automatic unit.
For the off-road devotees, Lexus is also offering an off-road package that equips the SUV with a fuel tank guard, enhanced transmission cooler, underbody protection, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select.
The SUV also boasts the Lexus Safety System+, which is a safety suite pretty similar to the Toyota Safety Sense. Features like pre-collision system with pedestrian protection, automatic high beams, radar cruise control, Lane Departure Alert, and others are part of the safety suite.
With the facelifted 2020 Lexus GX 460 out, could we see an updated Toyota Land Cruiser Prado soon? Well, we won’t mind. How about you? For those in the hunt for a luxurious MPV, Lexus recently launched its LM, which is a high-end and sophisticated version of the Toyota Alphard. In the Philippines, you can contact one of the authorised Lexus dealerships and reserve a unit for you by paying Php 100,000.
