Find the Trailblazer outdated? Here's Chevy's reply!
MANILA: If you clicked on this article's heading after looking at the SUV in our feature image, you probably know what we are going to talk about. But the world isn't a simple place to be in, and the same falls true to the contemporary-styled SUV you are seeing in the image above. Yes, it indeed is the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer, but you aren't allowed to lay your hands on it, yet!
The current-gen Trailblazer was released back in 2012, along with its pickup sibling – the Colorado. But its laid-back stying meant that people took it to be a lot older than it actually was. We do understand that the Colorado was an offering in the commercial pickup segment, where looks are on the redundant spot as far as customer preferences are concerned. But placed in the highly competitive urban SUV segment, the Trailblazer should have been adorned with a bit more aggressiveness in its character. Its plain design is touted as the primary reason behind the fact that it was soon overshadowed by rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest.
But General Motors has now decided to bring a comprehensive update to its portfolio, in the name of the Chevrolet Trailblazer Premier. Displayed at the ongoing 2016 Bangkok International Motor Show, the Chevy Premier is a showcasing product that depicts the future of Trailblazer moniker. The intricate front houses an evolved version of the brand's split grille, that is surrounded by a pair of redesigned headlamps. These headlight assemblies also house bull-horn shaped LED DRLs, that imbibe a modern elegance to the SUV's persona. The show vehicle is wrapped in a new paint shade, named Velocity, which further enhances the SUV's stance. Other changes like wide stepboards, a rear spoiler, and redesigned tail lamps complete the all-new look.
Walk inside the Trailblazer Premier, and the only thing that will indicate it being a Chevrolet, is the bow-tie insignia on the steering wheel. The cabin layout has been significantly redressed, and now features premium quality materials, dual-tone dash, and an all-new multi-function steering. But icing on the cake is the presence of Chevrolet's advanced MyLink infotainment system, which provides a host of connectivity options to the occupants. This touchscreen unit also holds voice command support, and is compatible with an expanding App ecosystem.
Enticed by the above description? Well, here's the catch! Though the manufacturer has displayed the Trailblazer Premier in all its glory at the BMS 2016, it will only be available in the market later this year.
Hence, no matter how attractive the Premier appears, you will only be able to get hold of one at the year-end. It still remains to be seen when this Chevy SUV steps on the Philippine soil. Till then, its just our exclusive images from the Bangkok Motor Show that can quench your thirst of owning this contemporary Chevy SUV.
