Ford Territory celebrates 1st birthday in PH
MANILA: Ford Philippines celebrates the first anniversary of the Territory in the local market by looking back on its milestones and achievements in the local automotive industry.
The Ford Territory was launched in the Philippines on August 14, 2020. It has set a new standard for small and mini SUVs with its stylish design, outstanding performance, and driver-assist technologies. It carries the Ford DNA in its design, engineering, and capability as its development follows the brand’s top global quality standards.
The Territory has become one of the best-selling SUVs in the country as it captivated young professionals, millennial drivers, and small families. In the first half of 2021, the Territory recorded total sales of 3,323 units, reflecting a 56% market share in the small SUV segment. It also emerged as the second best-selling Ford model in the local market, following the Ranger. Over 30% of total vehicles sold by Ford Philippines in the first half of the year were Territory SUVs.
Just recently, the Ford Territory reached its 5,000th customer milestone after selling 5,428 units from August 2020 to June 2021.
In relation to the vehicle’s popularity in the country, Territory owners established the Ford Territory Club Philippines (FTCP), a Facebook group composed of over 12,000 members. In a poll, FTCP members were asked what their favorite Territory features are. The top answers were the panoramic moonroof, 360-degree around view monitor, blind spot information system, 10-inch infotainment system, and Apple CarPlay with wireless connectivity feature and Android Auto compatibility.
The Ford Territory has also bagged several recognitions from different award-giving bodies in 2020. It was named as the Car of the Year-Reader’s Choice Category in the Top Gear Philippines Awards. It also won the Value Pick Award and the Family Car Award in the Reader’s Choice Category.
It also took home the Customer Choice Award in the 2020 AutoDeal Awards. The Ford Territory got the highest overall score from buyers’ feedback in terms of fuel economy, driving performance, comfort, looks and style, interior features, and interior space.
In a statement, Ford Philippines Managing Director Michael Breen said, “These huge successes for the Ford Territory will not be possible without the support and trust of our customers, dealers, partners, and employees. We are excited to sustain the momentum for the remainder of the year as we see more Filipinos enjoy driving a Ford Territory and owning every moment of it.”
