GWM PH to open 3 new dealerships in 2025

MANILA: Great Wall Motors (GWM) Philippines will further strengthen its network and increase its presence in the country this year.

In an interview, GWM Philippines Brand Head and Marketing Director Dax Avenido told Zigwheels Philippines that the company will open three new locations in 2025.

To note, GWM has 14 dealerships in the Philippines at the time of writing.

“Right now, in the pipeline, we’re looking at three (dealerships),” Avenido said.

“Hopefully, we are able to convince other dealer principals to invest in the GWM brand because as you can see, with the strength of the lineup, and the new team that we just built, we are after conquering the Filipino market,” he noted.

To date, GWM Philippines offers the below models:

• Haval H6 hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV)
• GWM Jolion compact crossover
• Ora electric hatchback
• Tank 4x4 off-road SUV
• Cannon pickup truck

Recently, GWM Philipines gave members of the motoring media a sneak peek of the latest iteration of the Cannon (which will be launched next week at the Manila International Auto Show) and a preview of the all-new Haval H9.

The brand is also steered by industry veterans Avenido and Nora Liquido, who have high hopes for the products they are offering.

Avenido stated that the GWM Cannon — which is also called the Poer in other markets — holds half of the pickup truck market in China. On that note, the people behind the brand’s local wing are confident with how the nameplate will perform in the country, granted that Filipino car buyers will become more aware of the model.

“This brand truly holds a Chinese spirit… and in order for you to capture 50 percent of the Chinese market — especially for pickups — that’s something. And I think that’s a piece of information that our Filipino customers should also know, how reliable and durable this particular product is,” Avenido noted.
