Hyundai Custin, Stargazer X to compete in PH MPV market
MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) has expanded its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) range with the addition of the all-new Custin and the Stargazer X.

Variants and pricing
The Hyundai Custin comes in two variants: the Premium priced at P2.08 million and the GLS priced at P1.77 million.
Every purchase comes with a five-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty.
Powertrain
Under the hood of the Custin is a 1.5-liter turbocharged Smartstream engine that produces 167 horsepower and 253 Newton-meters of torque.
This engine comes with continuous variable valve duration technology and an integrated thermal management system. It is mated to a button-type shift-by-wire eight-speed automatic transmission.
Four drive modes are available in the Hyundai Custin — Comfort, Sport, Eco, and Smart.
Exterior
Based on Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design concept, the Custin sports the parametric diamond grille with hidden daytime running lights.
Its rear end is embellished with aircraft wing-like tail lights and the “Hyundai” lettering replaces the brand logo.
The Hyundai Custin has an overall length of 4,950 millimeters (mm), a wheelbase of 3,055 mm, and a ground clearance of 170 mm. It is fitted with special 18-inch dynamic blade aluminum alloy wheels.
It is available in three colors: Aurora Blue Pearl, Polar White, and Military Gray Metallic.
Interior
This MPV can accommodate up to seven passengers, with captain seats with relaxation mode, 10-way power seat adjustment, and ventilating and heating functions on the second row of the top-of-the-line variant. It also comes with smart power sliding doors for easier entry and exit.
For driving convenience, the Custin is equipped with a 10.4-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, an electronic parking brake, and drive mode selector.
Safety
The Custin comes standard with Hyundai Smartsense driver assistance systems such as forward-collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, blind-spot collision avoidance, safe exit assist, high beam assist, driver attention warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, and rear occupant alert.
Other safety features include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, hill start assist control, parking brake, and tire pressure monitoring system.
Hyundai Stargazer X
Pricing and colors
The Stargazer X, which is now the top-of-the-line trim of the MPV, is priced at P1.348 million. It comes in three colors: Creamy White Pearl, Magnetic Silver Metallic, and Dragon Red Pearl.
Similar to the Custin, the Hyundai Stargazer X comes with a five-year or 200,000-km warranty.

The Stargazer X is a sportier version of the MPV, featuring a new three-dimensional stacked front grille and a black roof with rails. It also boasts redesigned bumper and hood with character lines. Meanwhile, the H-shaped tail lights are framed with black lamp bezels.
A new set of 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels are also added for a more distinctive look and improved ground clearance.
Interior
Among the interior upgrades on the Stargazer X are the new piano black dashboard panel, red stitching on the seats, and a new overhead console lamp.
The Stargazer X has a cargo capacity of 585 liters and can even be expanded with the foldable second- and third-row seats.
It also comes with the same convenience and technology features as the Stargazer GLS variant, such as remote engine start and window control, wireless chargers, and a seatback table.
Safety
Added to the Hyundai Smartsense technologies of the Stargazer X is the front parking distance warning.
