Hyundai Motor PH expects to sell at least 50 Tucson units per month

No sales target for Hyundai Santa Fe yet, but it has already surpassed expectations

Hyundai Motor PH expects to sell at least 50 Tucson units per month

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) is expecting to sell 50-100 units of the updated Tucson per month.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the price range of the Hyundai Tucson for the Philippine market?

For the Philippine market, the Hyundai Tucson’s price ranges from P1.68 million to P2.29 million.
  • How much horsepower and torque can the Hyundai Santa Fe produce?

The Hyundai Santa Fe can produce up to 235 horsepower and 367 Newton-meters of torque.
  • HMPH General Manager for Marketing Mark Parulan shared the aforementioned information with Zigwheels Philippines during the launch of the Korean marque’s Tucson and Santa Fe hybrid models

“For the Hyundai Tucson, we are looking at at least 50 to a hundred units a month,” Parulan said.

Concerning the Hyundai Santa Fe, the HMPH executive said no sales target has been set yet. Regardless, he claimed that the model has already surpassed the company’s forecasted performance in the Philippines.

“For the Santa Fe, currently we’re really happy with the traction that it’s getting from the market, so there’s no specific target yet. However, what we can say is that it overshot our expectations,” Parulan added.

When asked about the possibility of bringing in the Kona Electric, which recently launched at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Motor Show, the marketing executive mentioned the brand’s intentions to promote its latest vehicles first.

“For 2024, it might not enter the country yet, given that we just recently launched the Ioniq 5 N, as well as the Elantra N. Today, we launched the Tucson and Santa Fe Hybrid, so we’d like to give those recently launched vehicles enough exposure to be appreciated by the market,” Parulan shared.

Currently, the Tucson is offered in the Philippines at a price ranging from P1.68 million to P2.29 million. The Santa Fe variant lineup, meanwhile, starts at P2.41 million and is topped off by the Hybrid version, which retails at P3.33 million.

Both hybrid trims of the two Hyundai nameplates use a 1.6-liter turbocharged Smartstream engine paired with an electronic motor and a lithium-ion battery. At maximum, the powertrain can produce 231 horsepower and 367 Newton-meters of torque.

For those who want to see the Tucson and Santa Fe Hybrid in the metal, the two are currently on display at the Hyundai Mobility Experience held at the Alabang Town Center until July 21, 2024.
