Isuzu PH digitally unveils 2020 D-Max Boondock 4x4 pickup

MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) yesterday debuted virtually the 2020 D-Max Boondock 4x4 through Facebook Live. The Isuzu pickup is said to uphold the motoring lifestyle campaign of IPC, “Live Life Differently,” as a strong response to the “new normal” of business operations.

IPC President Hajime Koso boasted about the rugged design of the 2020 D-Max Boondock 4x4, which was constructed upon the well-known 3.0-liter D-Max 4x4 LS-A model. It has also been configured, tried, and tested to handle all types of rough terrain such as rocks, mud, riverbed, gravel, and sand.

Along with this, the vehicle also highlights outstanding engine performance due to its Euro-4 compliant 4JJ1-TCX four-cylinder in-line Blue Power 3.0-liter diesel engine with VGS turbocharger and intercooler, merged to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift or a six-speed manual transmission having a gearshift indicator. It produces a torque of 380Nm and a maximum power output of 173hp, making it the ideal vehicle for off-road driving of adventurous Filipino motorists.

This level of efficiency and power is also demonstrated in the accessories and honeycomb design of the D-Max Boondock. The monotube nitrogen-charged rear and front shock absorber guarantees an automatic response to varying road conditions and provides faster damping response. This leads to an enhanced steering control in any driving situation or terrain.

The steel side steps not only provide convenient access but significant protection to the pickup;s body. The “Boondock” logo there, which can be easily cleaned, offers more excellent traction during egress and ingress.

The Isuzu 2020 D-MAX Boondock 4x4 also includes 265/70 R17 all-terrain tires on matte black off-road rally type design R17 rims.

Koso also explained that the 2020 D-MAX Boondock was intentionally named as a tribute to the highest mountain in the Philippines, Mt. Apo. This is evident in the Boondock decal on the tailgate, which is currently matched with new body and hood customized graphics.

The 2020 D-Max Boondock 4x4 is available in different colors such as Silky Pearl White, Titanium Silver, Cosmic Black, and Red Spinel. It also has two variants, the MT and AT, and as part of the Monsoon Promo of Isuzu, the vehicle can be availed with a P95,000 discount until the last week of June.
