Kia EV6 launched in PH for P3.788-M

MANILA: Kia Philippines has officially launched the award-winning Kia EV6 today, March 21.

The Kia EV6 is designed to provide a convenient, sustainable, and user-friendly mobility solution. It is the first Kia model to be built on the company’s new platform for battery electric vehicles (BEV), the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

The Kia EV6 in the Philippines is offered in the GT-Line variant. It delivers 229ps of power and 350Nm of torque.

The Kia EV6 features a flat under-floor battery that contributes to the versatile and spacious interior. It may look compact on the outside, but its 2,900mm wheelbase makes its interior space as roomy as that of a midsize SUV.

The Kia EV6 boasts a futuristic, sophisticated look accentuated by the elegant clamshell hood and a crossover-inspired side profile. The Kia EV6 is designed to achieve ultimate aerodynamic performance, which significantly contributes to its impressive 528km range.

The fully electric powertrain of the Kia EV6 includes a 77.4kWH high-voltage battery pack that allows the vehicle to reach over 500km on a single charge.

Kia Philippines provides charging options made by Ayala Group’s Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. and its partner Greenstrum. Ayala Group also continues to expand its charging system network to guarantee a worry-free drive to its EV customers.

“We made sure to put the charging architecture in place long before the arrival of the EV6. Our strategically located charging stations are proof of our commitment to electrification. We are using the whole Ayala ecosystem to support the growth and adoption of EVs in the Philippines. We expect EV take-up to grow rapidly, and EVs to be the dominant transport technology in a few years. Ayala believes that positive climate action is an investment that will benefit future generations,” Ayala Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Bong Consing stated.

The battery system of the Kia EV6 uses lithium-ion battery cells that are resistant to large water splashes. Its casing system has an IP66 international rating that is commonly used for electric enclosures with plastic hinges and waterproof gaskets. The Kia EV6 itself also comes with a water-sensing system that automatically deactivates the EV system if water exposure is beyond safety standards when there is water intrusion.

The Kia EV6 is also packed with advanced safety features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning Detection, Blind Spot Detection and Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Collsion Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping and Following Assist Technology, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Safe Exit Assist, and 360-View Monitor.

The Kia EV6 also comes with the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function that allows it to supply power to charge mobile devices in case of power outages or camping trips.

All these exceptional features made the Kia EV6 earn international accolades such as the 2022 iF Design Award, 2022 Red Dot Award, 2022 European Car of the Year, and US Car of the Year.

Every purchase of the Kia EV6 comes with a portable charger, five-year or 160,000km vehicle warranty, eight-year of 160,000km HV battery system warranty, free preventive maintenance service (PMS) for five years, and free 24/7 roadside assistance for five years.

Owning a Kia EV6 is more cost-efficient than having a vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine (ICE) as it does not require oil changes, oil filters, spark plugs, and other lubricants. According to Kia, the maintenance of a Kia EV6 for five years will only cost P25,000, while an ICE vehicle of the similar size requires P110,000 worth of maintenance.

The Kia EV6 is available in five colors: Moonscape, Snow White Pearl, Runway Red, Yacht Blue, and Aurora Black Pearl.

The Kia EV6 GT-Line is priced at P3.788 million and is now available at Kia New Manila in Quezon City, Kia Alabang in Muntinlupa, Kia Sto. Tomas in Batangas, and Kia Pampanga. It will eventually be rolled out at all 42 Kia dealerships nationwide.
